i saw a storm brewing way off in the distance off my balcony last night. Ive always wanted to take some lightning shot, so it was my chance. i only got one descent shot, it was the very 2nd shot. The next 100 were only okay and then the battery died. :shrugs: it was fun anyway.i didn't plan on making an animation out of this, so i moved the camera a bit now and then and changed some settings.... next time tho... it will be better
note: you'll have to wait a bit for it to load... its loaded when it starts playing like a real animation instead of a slideshow

Whydid you have trouble getting shots? Did you use long exposures or did you use quick shutter speeds and try to guess? Can't you just close up the aperture and use a long shutter?

..after watching some more...
the flashes of the clouds in all those different positions are cool.. but i think it looks MUCH better in those smaller sequences when the clouds are sort of slow-motion expand outwards.. almost like an atomic bomb or something.. i.e the better parts are when you can SEE the transition of the clouds, not just the random flashes of different postions.
haha i'm just ranting, that's not a critique or anything, you can't help the timing when the sky looked cool, im really impressed you could get it into some kind of order like that

yeh i also love how in one part you can see the clouds moving... but i didn't KNOW that i would make an animation. hey, if you ever see a storm brewing outside your window... telll me

that's really cool.. haha i love the lightning and how it moves to all different areas around the clouds. i also get a kick out of how you can see the lights of the cars moving across the highway. 
when i first watched it it was still loading and going slower.. i looked up and realized that's not the intent.. but i think it looks cool both ways.. not only fast but when the clouds where slowly transitioning.

yeh... hopefully ill get another juicy storm some time... closer would be nice too. next time ill just let it go and take a shot every 5 seconds for a several mins
