Aww no! You guys missed it! I finally got Vue to work for me and I spent all night building a nice forest scene, and when the camera guy was going to take a picture... *chomp*!Man... that really sucks.....
I was having so many weird glitches when I tried it last night... But I figured it out

For this pretty cool piece of art; we go to observe the wild comment section.
here, many few-word sentences live in peace
and then... then there is the big college-dissertation on vue

If you ever get the Export module, you can save those skies out as HDR images and use them in D|SĀ
(At least, I think it requires Exporter D: )
Haha, if you're using Vue 11, lemmie know how that goes for ya since I haven't upgraded yet Ā
(I hear the rain and snow effects it has built-in are pretty cool!)

It is Vue 11.
Ā
I didn't see any snow or rain. At least, not in the spot I expected them to be (with the ground, water, and sky planes). I was wondering if I needed a certain module to use the rain or snow.
Ā
So far, I think its going pretty good. Its weird to me to use 3 different camera angles to pose things, I like DAZ's 'perspective' camera. But Im getting used to it.
I really need to get the ecopainter module. I have a number of plants from the Esprit content CD, but placing them all by hand is not the most efficient way to do it

Ah okies ^^
Still using Vue 10 mostly because it's been pretty stable and reliable, but also because I keep forgetting to upgrade xDĀ Want to save up for Infinite actually~
Snow/Rain might only be in Infinite/xStream then =/Ā I know that 11 has it as a particle effect, since I saw a demo video for it in the "Hey V11 is coming out!" email I got some time back.Ā It's either a module thing, or an "Advanced" - aka Infinite and up - feature like multipass rendering is.
yeah, I'll never get used to that ^^
Seems so counter-intuitive to me, seeing as virtually every other 3D application that has ever existed using multiple viewports and cameras.
Also? I often have difficulty with precise positioning in it. It's so hard to tell when an object is clipping beneath something or not for me.
EcoPainter for precision painting, EcoSystems for the massive stuff. EcoPainter seems to be more geared for localized stuff and where precise positioning is needed, while EcoSystems are mostly but not exclusively for large scale scattering. It's got some features that EcoPainter doesn't have (Or can't do easily) however, and you can have multiple EcoSystems each with different scattering rules while you can only have one Painter system (Since you're doing it by hand).
I need to start using Vue again soon... Though I did learn that my laptop's motherboard got fried pretty bad, and if I had left it much longer it could have been permanent "get a new laptop" damage Ā Ā Still waiting on hearing when I'm gonna get it back from the shop... Last weekend they said they had ordered the new parts.

I wanna say the rain and snow comes in a module, but you're probably right; it might only be available for 'bigger' versions.Ā
It is kinda hard to position with the three cameras. The good news is there is a small control box for the main camera just below the preview window where it can be fine tuned. I used it to change the focus for this shot.
I was going for painter first because I'm more familiar with that. When playing with the PLE I used the painter quite a bit. I don't plan on massive scenes just yet, I think the painter will do everything I need for now.
I bet that's where my motherboard is going this Vue program is CPU intensive. I actually just got a box from dell, and I'll be sending it to their repair shop here soon to have my random problems (hopefully) fixed. I'll wait for it to come back before buying any Vue modules.Ā

The nice thing is the one camera you CAN move around you can "Save", so if you find an angle you like you can save it and move around, and can always come back to that one!
If you're trying to position something and the viewport display isn't playing nice (It doesn't for some of my computers) you can aim it at say the feet or whatnot, then tweak some stuff in another view, then jump back to the other cam to make sure everything is working nice.
Not the same as having two viewport cams in C4D to watch everything align properly, or just navigate in general, but it helps

I don't think I'd mind the cameras if they didn't ALL zoom in when one is zoomed. That's when it gets hard. I only use one or two view ports (plus the main) at a time, so the third one gets thrown around so much I don't know what it's looking at after some time
I'll have to play with it more when I get my laptop back. That's when I'll get ecopainter and really start using it.
