Description Colin talked a big game, but he just knew he could back up his claims of skill if he ever got the chance. The problem was that he was the backup quarterback on his team, and the starter was a legend. Brad had been on the team for four years now, and had thrown for over four thousand yards in each of them. It was his senior year, and Colin knew if he ever wanted the chance to get on the field and show what he could do he had better do it in a hurry.

The backup scoured the Internet long and hard, looking for anything that might give him an edge over his competition. He thought about steroids, but he knew the conference tested regularly for performance enhancing drugs. He needed something big, something to just put Brad out of the picture. He was getting desperate when he stumbled upon the website.

“Magical items! Satisfaction 100 percent guaranteed! Makes your wishes come true!” The webpage blared, in big red font. Colin ordinarily wouldn’t have put any stock in magic, but by that point, depressed by his lack of success, he’d begun drinking. In his haze, the idea of taking a chance on magic, of all things, seemed reasonable. He clicked on a medallion prominently featured on the website that, it was claimed, could grant wishes. He bought it, received word that it would be arriving in a few days, and logged off.

Had he been sober, he might have noticed the warning that using the medallion for selfish wishes would backfire on the user.

Colin woke the next morning, groaning. He definitely shouldn’t have started drinking—he vaguely remembered buying something supposedly magical! Rolling his eyes at the thought, he navigated back to where he thought the website had been….huh. That was weird. It didn’t show up in his browser history or on the search engine. It was just gone. Maybe he’d imagined the whole thing?

The next few days went by as normal, and Colin had forgotten about the whole thing. Then, one day after practice, he came back to his apartment to find a small box waiting for him. Opening it up, Colin was shocked to see the medallion he’d bought online. Shrugging, he took it out of the package. He didn’t really believe it was magic, but what did he have to lose? Tightly grasping the medallion, he wished “I wish Brad was out of the way and I had my chance to be the star.”

The medallion began to glow brightly, and Colin nearly dropped it. The thing was suddenly burning hot! He cried out as the glow got brighter, and brighter, and—

FLASH

Colin rapidly began to change. His brown hair flowed down to his shoulders, blonde highlights streaking through them. His muscular frame melted away as he shrank, his body hair evaporating with a tingling feeling that ran through him. His clothing began to change as well, his shirt and pants melting together into an outfit reminiscent of a French maid’s dress. Two golden pom-poms materialized in Colin’s hands as his hips widened with a set of pops. His face softened and became feminine as a pair of breasts materialized on his chest, helping him fill out the outfit. A squelching sound signified that Colin was now entirely female, his eyes glazing over. Reality spun and altered as the world changed.

Collette blinked, glancing around her apartment in confusion. What was she doing here? Practice started in like a half an hour, and she needed to get moving. As one of the new assistant captains of the cheer squad, she needed to set a good example for the younger girls. Halloween was coming up fast, and their halftime routine had to be perfect. Brad would be watching, after all, and everyone knew he was single. It was part of the reason Collette had suggested sexy French maid outfits for their costumes. She just needed the chance to show him how sexy she could be. She was sure she could back it up if he gave her a chance.

As Collette and her teammates practiced their routine, back at the apartment the medallion still lay on the floor, unnoticed. The gem in the center winked twice, and then it vanished, as if it had never been there at all.
