Amazing work! I love the way the grub's colors stand out to the background, and the way you did the shadow is suberb. Just remember; Function over fashion. When invisioning a creature that does not yet exist, think of a world and scenario in which this creature survives, then tweak it's design to how it would thrive there. You did a great job on that here, this looks like it might live around the bottom of a volcano, or something of the sort. I really like the way you did the pores in it's body, with the sparks flying out. And the whole color complements it's appearance.

My guess that it spits something hot with it's bright coming from it's body and also the strange cracks near it's pours.

It looks translucent in the thumbnail, but when you see it up close it looks just like a shiny bug, not a bug that emanates light from the inside. But it still looks good tho :3

the problem with translucency is it needs to look like there's stuff inside the light's coming out through. this just looks well- flat with glowy holes going through it, which is different. the flt areas are still opaque, sorry.
