Description
My first (and maybe only?) entry in 's contest. The bio style is pretty much a copy-pasta of the old SD files. Well, here you go; I hope you like freaky-looking monsters!Name: Vearax
Gender: Female
Type: Mammal
Alignment: Passive-Aggressive
Color: Pale-Pinkish Brown
Size: Average, not especially large or small
Biography: An incredibly bizarre monster, Vearax is a mammal with very insect-like features. Her jaw alignment is very similar to most, large mandible insects. These mandibles are actually large incisors, similar in nature to a rodent. Using these mandibles, Vearax is capable of capturing prey and injecting potent venom. This venom must be injected in large quantities to live up to its true potential; it is capable of dissolving internal organs into liquid. When her prey has died, Vearax uses her long, whip-like tongue to lap up the liquid for consumption (small prey are consumed entirely). When this venom does not reach potent levels, it makes the target dizzy and slows down their reaction speed.
Vearax is capable of living in a variety of climates, but is most often seen in the desert and arctic regions of Tarrun. Because of this, it seems that she is immune to the dramatic temperatures that come with these regions. She has two forms of locomotion; she is capable of moving in a traditional quadruped stance and she can crawl on her belly. The latter is usually done when climbing on surfaces, an easy task thanks to her suction cup-like toes and tail. Her skin is very saggy and tears easily, making it very difficult to maintain a grip on her. Complimenting this is a very powerful regeneration, healing these torn regions within minutes (appears as grotesque skin bubbles surfacing from bleeding regions before covering the entire wound with saggy skin).
When hunting, Vearax prefers ambush tactics, usually leaping onto her targets and piercing their flesh with her mandibles. She keeps a firm hold on her prey thanks to incredible flexibility, usually twisting her body to keep her foe immobilized. Her favorite food sources are the Delgaro, but she is not shy about taking smaller inhabitants of Tarrun, including humans. She does not feed often, however, and usually travels to new locations in order to allow prey to reestablish itself.
Her personality can be described as passive-aggressive. She’s very placid when not hungry, so long as she is not disturbed. When attacked or approached, she is very aggressive, and will start fights without hesitation. When hungry, she is far worse. She will lash out violently and almost never back down from battle, fleeing only if the situation looks especially grim. If she were to enter a city while hungry, she has potential to cause an incredible amount of destruction.
Trivia: Vearax’s concept is an aphid lion that has undergone “mammalization” into a hideous monster. She has rodent features such as incisors, whiskers, and toe claws in addition to aphid lion features, such as the general face and tail.

A very freaky monster indeed. This one's strength comes from her bio: the design is neat, but hearing the way she moves and functions adds a whole nother layer of interest. The way she regenerates is especially cool/nasty.
