Description

Jasmine continued to have terrible nightmares of being stuck in the oversized hourglass that Jafar had magically stuffed her in. Her dream self could never stop the overflow of sand, and just as one filled up, she would find herself in another, trying as hard as she could to keep from getting suffocated by it. She woke up screaming and gasping for air so many times, she slept in a different room than Aladdin in order to keep herself from waking him up every night.

One day she would stop having these night terrors, but tonight wasn't the night, as again she was half buried in a giant hour glass, the sand hot against her skin. Any attempt she made to slow the flow only burned her skin, causing her to retreat to shake the burning sensation from her palms, before inevitably trying again. Nothing she did seemed to help, regardless, because before long she was drowning in it, a world of torture before she found herself gasping for air and reaching out, half tangled up in her bed sheets.
She took a moment to revel in the safety of her room, get a sip of water, and lie back down to suffer at the hands of her imagination again.
