This is my first crit ever, so please bear with me! ♥

First of all, I just want to say your style is fantastic! It looks very original compared to most of the styles that float around in the equine community. Also great choice of colors here, they contrast perfectly with the scheme of the horses coat.

Things that I personally noticed was that the legs are a tad too short for the body. But its not bad! As for the background I would say that its important to change brushes when drawing different aspects. Like you would use a softer more textured brush for the clouds then you would use for the ocean and sand. Im not sure what program you use, but there are a lot of great brushes on Deviantart you can download and practice with, and tons of SAI brush settings people have posted for you to use! I personally use SAI myself, [ with a few minor things done in PS] and find that changing brush settings adds texture and depth to your scenery. ♥

Also be careful with color choices on your scenery. The base colors you've chosen are perfect, but dont be afraid to add some complimentary colors in the mix! It makes things look a little more realistic! Maybe thats not what your aiming for, but its something that has always helped me 8D

Overall, the picture is great! You seem to have a real understanding of horse anatomy and your cell shading looks near perfect! ♥
