Description
For my art curriculum I needed to take an intro to sculpting class for some credits as a prerequisite to get into the major. For our first assignment we had to craft a shape (like a triangle or a cube) without using tape or glue, I never crafted or sculpted anything before so this was a challenge. My first two attempts failed as for the first one I tried to make out of dirt which failed horribly XD and the second I tried to make out of cheese ITS,marshmallow, and toothpicks which fell apart. In the end and after many hours of failed attempts I kinda randomly came up with this and I'm really proud of what I accomplished here. Couldn't think of a title so I've called it the box of autumn though I know theres no Autumnal leaves and I dnt think cicadas appear in the fall if I remember. Plus its currently winter where I am and there snow everywhere, its just the vibe I got from it and the first title that poped in my head. Had to use my cellphone camera to snap this explaining why the quality isn't to great.
Materials I used where: cardboard, toothpicks, honey, dried grasses, dried morning glory seed bulbs, 4 cicada husks, and 1 butterfly husk
Now I can get back to what I usually do, the horror and dark arts, though I actually did have fun making this once I figured things out
There is another version of this cause sadly the butterfly broke off and I had to replace it with a makeshift fairy insect I made out of the butterflies wings and a grasshopper husk

This is really cool! It looks pretty fun to do. I like how this cube contrasts with your style, making you step out of your comfort zone is always great to expand your abilities anyways, hope ya get an A+

Your welcome I actually like the other one to, the grasshopper with butterfly wings adds a uniqueness to it, it can be some kind of metaphor
lol

That's really up to you to interpret for me I view the metaphor as a change into something new or new beginning, perhaps an intervention. After the change, the grasshopper feels lighter and freer hence the butterfly wings.
hope that helps

Ohohoho nice I can definately see it mind if I tell my teacher this if he ask cause otherwise my explanation would be my butterfly husk broke and I dug into my old lizard food for a grasshopper and attached butterfly wings to it
then the rest of the class will give me that wtf look XD
