The day Blackhaven Institution a house for orphaned children and infants burned to the ground mysteriously, the souls of those trapped inside became corrupted by an unknown evil. This corruption warping them into demons that now dwell in an alternate Blackhaven Institution. There they await those who are dragged into this alternate world by the unknown evil through sleep. Below is the updated profile and backstory for the demon "The Corrupted" from the Nursery Wing of the alternate Blackhaven Institution, this demon was featured in Blackhaven Encounter story #13. Most rooms in the Nursery Wing of Blackhaven Institution where like little tight knit communities made up of infants separated by under what circumstance they entered. There were rooms for infants born and left in the institution, rooms for infants either found or abandoned by there parents after birth, and lastly rooms that acted sort of like mini daycares especially used mostly by parents who worked in Dracove city and had no one to watch their child at home. Yet each room was identical in the fact that they were all filled with the same loud boisterous crying, cooing, and giggling throughout the day. The group of infants featured in encounter story #13 were part of a room that kept infants born in the institution. This profile will highlight the experience of one infant in particular from this room named Jack.

Amongst the other babies in the room Jack behaved different from most of the infants who spent most of their day, either sleeping or howling. Jack was an unusually quiet infant, he never shouted nor cried as much as the other infants and spent most of the day silently lounging around in his crib. Some of the nurses had a running joke calling him 'Baby Socrates' he would always lounge around in his blanket with a serious expression on his face as if he was a thinker. Though the other infants occasionally cooed, giggled, and howled at Jack, he did not seem interested in reacting back at them. Yet during the brief period of play time Jack wouldn't mind sharing the toys he played with and entertained the infants around him. Jack after this would go back to his serious self once back in his crib at the room. Jack seemed to have never gave any of his caretakers a hard take nor hardly any problems. This behavior deemed him by nurses as one of the few 'Matured Infants' in the entire wing, also on the eye for more likely being adopted sooner than the other children. Yet of course before then he would find himself in the inevitable midst of the fire... On the day of the fire Jack perished the same way as many of the infants from his room succumbing to the blaze. Yet the corruption that afflicted him after altered him much differently from his peers. Many of the infants especially those that where in his room, were afflicted pretty distinctly. Their corrupted consummation left them with some sort of tentacle-like appendage attached to their corrupted form. Jack's corruption was certainly much more significant than his peers as he grew abnormally larger than the rest of them and retained more of his original features and likeness.

In the alternate Blackhaven The Corrupted represents the general corruption that warped and distorted the bodies of it's victims. With features either being extremely randomized independently or particularly distinct among what would be called a sect. A sect is a group of individuals that perished previously close bye that are now corrupted and share very similar distinct features. In Jack's case he inherited a sect of the corruption that made him and the infantile demons around him have these distinct tendril-like appendages and features. Features vary throughout the demon sects in the alternate Blackhaven. Among a group of the corrupted there always seems to be an alpha demon. One hit with the most potent corruption making them significantly more powerful than the others in the sect. Jack became this alpha demon and acts as a guardian and pack leader to the corrupted in his sect. Powerful and wise his mere presence and expression brings an atmosphere of intimidation. Yet unlike some of the other alphas of sects, Jack rarely acts on his victims. Instead he points and lets those in his group deal with them and feast. Though oddly not as violent and provokable as many of the other horrors that dwell in the alternate world. If any in his pack are ever in harms way he will personally deliver a ruthless execution with his set of thick blackened hands.
