Vektrans appeared through the Astral Plane at the same time as other neo-races and aided in driving back the Great Beasts and taking back the planet. Like the other neo-races, they too sought refuge from the extinction of their civilization due to the Astral Awakening.

Vektran faces and anatomy come in as many variations as that of humans, but they are otherwise homogeneous in other facets: All Vektran skin tones are variations of pale ashen gray compared to humans. Their body hair also absorbs all light, which means their hair produces no shine from light sources, like a vantablack material. Most striking however are their eyes, with black scleras and faintly glowing, multi-colored irises and pupils. These colors seem to mean nothing and have no rhyme or reason to how they develop, as a whole family of Vektrans can each have a different shade of eye color.

Vektrans are psychic, able to telepathically communicate with one another as well as do so with other neo-races whom they make physical contact with. A skilled enough Vektran can link with another's nervous system to such a sophisticated degree that they can even see another's past memories. Vektrans have found great success in society in the realm of psychology and social services. A Vektran's brain functions faster than the other neo-races, making them seem as if they are more intelligent when it's more accurate to say that they are processing information faster and have more refined memory. Mathematics and study-intensive topics do come easier to them thanks to this, and Vektrans can also be found excelling in finances.

Vektrans are unique among the neo-races in that no Vektran experiences poverty. This is because all Vektrans share accumulated wealth from the same Vektran-run centralized bank. A portion of the profits from the highest earning Vektrans is consolidated with fees of other middle and high class Vektrans is able to provide enough universal basic income that even the lowest class Vektran can have their basic needs met to live in comfort. Vektrans believe that with basic needs met, their people are now free to focus on learning in new fields and pursue passions that will benefit the Vektran nation. Seeing this in action resulted in recent pushes among other neo-races from activists to have their governments build similar UBI models.

Due to a variety of factors including those described, Vektrans are distrusted by more conspiratorial-minded members of society. Several different conspiracy theories circle around them, that they are secretly vampires or demons, and that they use their monetary power to secretly run the world, feeding on the dregs of society in the shadows.

Vektrans are very insular, as a telepathic race they find more comfort among their own and communicating with other neo-races on a personal level can prove challenging if touch-telepathy is not involved. If it is, Vektrans can be found to be surprisingly warm. Their quick thinking can make it seem like they have little patience with other neo-races when they do not discern information given the first time. Vektrans however are reliable in their tasks, and even if you do not personally like the Vektran you work with you can count on them getting the job done, and helping you when the chips are down for the sake of the group.

Vektrans have severe limitations in how they are able to manifest Astral Drifts. A Vektran Astral Drift can only manifest through vantablack extensions of themselves (Such as extra arms, tentacles, etc.) and they cannot Aural apply in Fortification. This means Vektran Astral Drifters then to be "glass cannon"s, with powerful psychic domination capabilities that can end most fights but having very little in the form of defensive power.
