Re-Revisions to versions of the Mighty Five for 's hero universe and webcomic.

With sheet;

Name: Dmitri Sergeivitch Kostrominov
Alias: The Armory(known in Russia as Oruzhiye)

Race: Human
Home, Nationality: Serov, Siberia, Russian Federation

HT: 6'9''
WT: 407 lbs

Hair: Red, military cut
Eyes: Faded green(including the white of the eyes)
Skin: Fair

Description: Large and burley, Dmitri has the large build of a large Russian man, complete with a goatee and beard redux. Unlike most in his occupation, he disdains from costumes and dresses with just a red long great coat covering his military attire of combat pants and boots, body armor, gloves, etc. He and his attire tends to be adorned have badges, patriotic messages, and symbols, flags related to his nation and military. The back of the coat has black Russian Imperial double headed eagle holding a golden Hammer and Sickle, one in each claw. In combat, he usually wears a large, highly advanced backpack dubbed 'Valeriya', after the scientist who helped create it for him. His trademark hammer and sickle are either strapped to said Valeriya or to his person when he is not wearing Valeriya.

The Armory is best described as a paradox at best; militaristic yet pacifistic; a former communist and atheist turned democratic idealist and Buddhist. His intelligence, liberalism, and tech-savvy nature are all shrouded by his raunchy exterior; underneath his seemingly brawny, militaristic image is a compassionate, open-minded, and often brooding figure. Given his time and experiences, he witnessed much which has left him cynical and often suspicious of politics, bureaucracy, and oddly enough even the military. When keeping his cool, he can be tactical and professional; when impassioned, as he often is, he can be arrogant, grunt-like, and emotional. Regardless, he remains filled with lots of Russian joy, and maintains a hearty and friendly disposition.

Known Powers; Equipment:
The Armory's strength lies in his versatility and flexibility. As his name implies he embodies nearly every tool, weapon, and means to combat and counter almost any conceivable threat. Essentially his role would be that of the one man army, and on the team he acts as the well rounded counter and support to any threat. Much of this he inherited not only from his tenure as a Soviet hero and solider, but his own natural, inborn skill.

The Armory is one of the most powerful and versatile super soldiers on the planet, equipped with numerous amplified abilities. He very strong, able to lift a car with ease. He has enhanced speed, reflexes, agility, and near invulnerable continuation. His accuracy and proficiency with any number of weapons, melee or otherwise, make him a superb combatant on any field. He is also immune to biological hazards; radiation, disease and gases are all futile against him, and he can even absorb radiation safely into himself, converting it into power while simultaneously protecting the environment around him from its effects. Unsurprisingly, he is an excellent survivalist.

Genetic alteration as well as improvement upon his already innate abilities has granted the Armory combat-efficient psychic senses. Most notable are clairvoyance, his ability to sense things beyond sight, and precognition, which allows him to sense danger approaching.

In time of distress, the Armory will remove both Valeriya and his greatcoat, greatly increasing his speed and mobility as he relies solely on his melee weapons and the rest of the weapons that are still strapped on his person.

The Armory's inventory, as suggested, is extensive, numbering almost every conventional and non-conventional weapon known. He has his own personal Armory facilities, both on the Olympus station and his Patriot‘s City. His supply of weapons, particularly those of his design, are almost limitless, especially as continues to make new ones. As of late he fancies himself as something of a weapon's collector and inventor. In not out doing himself against standard threats, he equips various machine guns, throwing knives, grenades launchers, various kinds of grenades, and the works. He particularly enjoys dual wielding. Unlike most of his compatriots, his does not shrug the use of conventional and lethal arms, although he will manage not to do more than injure or discourage his opponents with them.

His backpack Valeriya is a highly advanced computer system and nano-factory generator as well as storage device, that is able to store and modify his various weapons on the fly, as well as even make *new* weapons with it's nano-factory. It is hooked up to his base's satnet, and has wireless internet capabilites, with compatible response to voice command from the Armory alone. To power Valeriya with the energy needed to make new weapons, a chunk of highly irradiated uranium no bigger than an iPod powers it, and is stored in a highly shielded core of hardened titanium-lead and tungsten. Should containment fail, Valeriya is programmed to spray the uranium in a specialized mix of cadmium foam that hardens into a solid in moments, halting all nuclear proccesses within the ore. There is one weapon in particular that Valeriya always carries around for the Armory: his Zokvovo-47su. The Armory's ultimate long-range weapon, as with himself, it is based an ‘all-in-one’ philosophy. It is a powerful rifle capable of Gatling gun-rate of fire, rocket launching, and a large variety of other functions which are interchangeable through swapping of parts with Valeriya. Valeriya can also integrate new weapon features into it depending on the situation. Additional gear that Valeriya holds is Goggles appearing like much thicker sunglasses and bearing many unique features. Though not a weapon itself, it carries a sophisticated visor and is included with a wide variety of sensors. Valeriya also holds Stolichnaya, a brand of Vodka brewed by the great master, Boris Bulavin. These act not only as potent spirits, but powerful elixirs as well. They help clear his head, gain vitality and stamina and can act as grenades (in conjunction with a gun shot or flame rounds).

In battle, he wears the Grozny Gauntlets. These gauntlets not only allow him an added punch and force in his attacks but also act as partner equipment for his trademark weapons, massive hammer and sickle named Rodina and Katyusha respectively. They are composed of a metal, discovered and tampered by Russian scientists, known as Magnitrosk. Lightweight, yet as powerful and durable as titanium and adamantium, and able to smash and slice through most anything. With the Grozny Gauntlets, the Armory can control the weapons in the air through forcefields, sending them flying through the air and returning to his person, as well as being able to generate a protective field around him when crossing the weapons together.

Finally, along his arms and chest, he has cybernetic body-armor shaped to his muscles that greatly enhance his physical attributes. His military coat is made of hydro carbon alloy, a material that is light and soft yet stronger than titanium. It’s a tough and deflective form of armor that is highly resistant to bullets, elements, and some energy attacks and yet still retains is fabric like form and consistency.

Weaknesses: The Armory's greatest weakness would be beings of the mystic variety, who have excellent defenses against mortal and technological weapons, as well as electric and magnetic manipulators. He is also, physically, the second weakest of the Mighty Five.

Origins: At the start of the Cold War the Soviet government began to work on numerous projects, many secret to it’s own higher ups, in an attempt to counter both the US and as a defense against any threat to the nation. Many of these employed some of the most unorthodox and some would say insane experiments ever, particularly under the patronage of eccentric Soviet scientists such as Arkad Leonid and Mikhail Yarlos. Heroes of Russian descent had long existed in Russia; now defected or disappeared heroes such as Aloysha and the Ruskala were national, modern myths, which numerous Russian citizens looked up to and were inspired by. Their efforts in the Great Patriotic War not only turned the tide of battle, but served as a motivating propaganda machine, which was just what the Soviets needed. Throughout the massive country, hundreds upon thousands were ‘selected’ and whisked away, the more devoted having volunteered.

Project Opekun or "Protector," was the largest and most secretive project, placed above all the rest. It incorporated dozens of other experiments and pursuits and combined them to create one that could create not simply a super soldier, but a living weapon that could confront and counter any threat, and defeat and defend against any enemy that threatened the nation: the one man army. Dmitri was one fated to be hand picked for the project; a great fighter and war hero from an isolated town in the Siberian highlands. Hardy, rugged, intelligent, he also showed innate and in born signs of superpowers. An ardent communist and servant of the state, he was also orphaned by the war, and thus not well known, making it therefore likely he wouldn’t be noticed or traced. When confronted, he joined with full aplomb.

Already a skilled survivalist from his life in the factory, the humble Dmitri was a highly hardened veteran of the great war. In addition he was taken through all KGB and Spetnaz (Russian Special Forces) training, honing in all skills to optimal level. After showing some psionic potential he was even trained under a secret psychic program. His powers became more prominent and defined, and with further At that point, willingly or not, knowing so or not, he was inducted into the project, to be placed into the most ambitious evolution any human could. During the People’s Defense Program, as it was known, he was joined by numerous other would be heroes, each with varying loyalties all lying with their family and countrymen (whilst secretly against their government). Many of these would befriend the Armory, as he was by now known by his project name, and form Narodnyye Geroi the People’s Heroes and today’s Red Seven.

Over a period of perhaps 10 years, the work that was done to him so encompassed nearly every form of modification and enhancement, on mechanical, genetic, and physical levels. Drugs were tested and applied to him. Aging, already slowed ‘naturally,’ was stagnated further, or at least physically through regenerative drugs, and all sorts of other chemicals and even radiation was given to provide other advancements now seen in him today. In addition he was equipped with the results of other weapons projects, which he uses to this day. From this came his chosen Code name, Oruzhiye Aknya, “The Weapon.” It stuck out nicely for himself even afterwards, especially given his militaristic nature. Along with his natural powers, he was nearly tripled in strength and power.

Unveiled as their Communist answer to the west’s ‘capitalist’ heroes, the Armory was the first of many of the People’s Heroes; shining and living emblems of the Soviet cause and people. At first tools of determent and propaganda, they proved their own against numerous villains and threats, and almost single-handedly maintained the Soviet Union’s superpower status. Over time however, the People’s Heroes became strained with their government masters; stagnation, oppression, and human rights abuses could not be ignored, especially as they became more prominent. Like the Russian heroes they admired, the People’s Heroes, even the Armory among them, questioned their commitment. At the forefront, the once loyal Armory saw everything dashed in Russia’s Vietnam; the invasion of Afghanistan. The last straw, the Armory and his fellows became dishearten and called for reform. Backing up the efforts of Gorbachev’s perestroika and glasnost policies, they helped symbolize the fall of communism and with it the Soviet Union. This came at the cost of order and stability, as republics left, institutions collapsed, and numerous heroes scattered for their separate ways, many without cause.

Still devoted to the people, as were others, the destitute Armory resuscitated and was determined to revive an old but modified cause. Eventually, through his own psychic abilities, gleaned military information, and influenced earned connections, tracked down and came in contact with other projects and super soldiers much like him. Together and in response to foes and threats to their motherland, they formed the group known as Adskaya Sevem, or to the rest of the world, Red Seven. As such Oruz formed Opekun, an organization of both humans and heroes (and otherwise) which was to integrate the efforts of Patriots, diverse of origins, united by same love of nation.”

The Armory eventually clashed with the first four members of the Mighty Five, both parties targeting the same runaway villain. Every time they met up, they battled, always ending up at a standstill. Eventually, they put their differences aside to finally bring down the villain (on the deal that with defeating him, Oruz could take him into Russian custody). During the days of their joint mission, Dmitri learned a lot about himself through various conversations with Tionaia. With a hearty laugh and a bottle of vodka, he amiably decided to join their league. The Mighty Five was officially formed.

To Armory's complicated-ass credit, he sure is fun to draw.

Full of awesome, and way better without the hat (which doesn't add a single thing to the character). Neck's a big longish, but thats just a nitpick.

He certainly looks more like a hero and less like a drooling psychopath.

Wow, this design looks a lot better without the hat. Makes him a bit less stereo-typical and shows more of his face, definitely a plus.

Indeed he has got a complicated-ass credit... but he looks awesome. And Armory's probably my favourite of the heroes now.
