Ahahaha this took forever. Sorry TF2, I made you a fancharacter. :cTech is short for Technician, though hardly anyone bothers to say all that. She's from South London and has a cockney accent. Her feminist control freak of a mother, whose temperment caused her father to call it quits and leave very early on, insisted that she train for a career.
She's in her early twenties. She prefers not to be reminded that she's a girl, and is the kind of person who'd agree to a pissing contest and get as far as unzipping before realising the problem.
Tech is on Team YLO (where a bunch of us stuck our fancharacters), a band of neutrals employed by The Announcer for upkeeping bases, etc. She's the one who maintains and programs the extensive computer equipment, security cameras, alert board and missiles.
Disclaimer: I don't actually advocate adding new classes or girls to TF2 canon, blah blah this is just for fun.

That's awesome, though indeed as you said it wouldn't work as a playable character, considering that a Grapple Gun would IMO be either laughably useless or incredibly overpowered, depending on what you could do with it.

Yeah I can't see actual players getting used to using something like a grapple gun, but I'm thinking posibly as a manouverability aid for the AI, or something.

YLO's a fanmade all girl OC team. It's at 5 members, Tech (above), Welder ([link] ), Nurse ([link] ), Agent ([link] ) and Caps ([link] ). They're roughly female versions of existing classes gameplay styles, being Scout, Engineer, Medic, Spy and Pyro respectively.
I'm thinkin' about doing a comic about 'em, if I had time. xD Possibly after I finish my current one. Right how we just sorta mess around RPing 'em. :3

This is a very interesting character. I'd certainly play as her if I could.

I guess I think of her as a one-off AI/storymode character if anything, rather than playable, because grenades suck and her weapons are non-damaging, support only.
