Yes, but after her transformation you notice she matures a bit more, realizes how rash she was after being wounded, and for the most part after that, she does seem a bit more mature.

Well, you could start with her personality. And then get to the fact that she is one of a kind and more powerful Optimus and Megatron combined. She has more weapons than any of the other TF characters and apparently is starter as well.

And on top of that, she stopped caring about the other Autobots. She stabbed and nearly killed Bumblebee, and all she had to say for herself when she woke up was, "Told you I'd be alright."

Oh wait, I must have made that post a while ago! I'd like to explain that I did like Sari's development in the first two seasons, and even the premiere of season 3, but from then on it became apparent that she didn't get the development that she used to, and that the season was significantly shorter than the other two, because the show was being cancelled and had to be wrapped up as soon as possible. It's a shame though. Stil, I can't really name a human character I like more, though now that I think of it, Chip Chase also comes to mind.
Oh yeah, mostly for me I end up being intolerant of the human characters altogether.

I guess you could say she has sueish traits. But the term is abused so much that it has almost lost its meaning. To be honest I think she is the most interesting human companion the Transformers franchise has ever created. Simply because she has powers. The powers make her interesting because she is useful in a realistic way for the series and not a boring shoulder pet like most of the other children.

there were other human character with abilities, but not as many as her, that were shoehorned in but she at least knew to get out of the way and not be a bother.

She's not a mary sue. Everything about her actually makes sense, and is intelligently written. She's not perfect, and her abusing her key caused a lot of problems. She even upgraded herself with her key, which drained it of all it's power. That almost cost Bumblebee his life, and had she not used the key on herself, it still would have had the power to save prowl.
