Description This is just the rough process used to make a Tifa background. After years just got a new pen for the tablet. So still trying to get used to it. Want to start seriously painting. the high realism one I tried looked too smooth and fake. So tried a darker one. Outta practice.

Yeah I don't actually have a technique for it yet. Plus imagined light source.

The realism pic would be amazing if the edges were a little more sharp, and you needed to widen her left leg a little, even though I know it's in perspective, overall AWESOME for a first try with a tablet, I can't do that well and I've been using one for weeks! You sure can adapt...

Oh yeah, for roughs and a more realistic handling of mediums, try out "artrage" It's pretty brilliant for blend work.

I have that, but for that kind of stuff I would use Painter, not that I can use that very well yet.

Yeah I thought that looked off. Thanks I'll try to watch that next time. I wouldn't call it "first" just first in a few years. XD There is a liberal amount of photoshop blending and smoothing done to make it actually look good small. It doesn't big ahahahaha.

Get your rough colours and basic planning done, make sure they're close enough or at least complimentary. Then blur the boundary between them. If that's what you were asking?

No... Definitely not, use the colour picker (hold the alt key while you using the brush) to pick a colour and have your brush at 30% opacity or something, then just pick the colours and mix them.

I suppose that would definitely reduce the obvious colour changes in my lines. :\ I keep forgetting to touch brush opacity. Thanks XD

Brush opacity is what I very most about my brushes, that and the actual brush image.
