When I saw Flash II, my first thought was "I have to draw this kid"

So here, have my head canon

As a child shy Flash was doted on constantly by his mother Galaxy, getting anything he wanted and always getting special treatment. As he grew older, and visibly stronger, Galaxy started to force him into guard things, taking him on trips to where the guards train, trying to get him to talk to ponies like Tempest Shadow and Flash Magnus, even signing him up to help out at the guard base without his knowing or consent. But Flash was not interested in the slightest. In fact, he had recently discovered his interest in video games, a topic him and his uncle Dusk Shine could nerd over when Galaxy would very rarely let him visit. In fact, it was Dusk who persuaded the meek little colt to enter his first talent show at his school, and surprisingly, he won it. He had created an online game, doing the coding, the sprites and everything else. This astounded the entire school and earned him first place in the talent show. Unfortunately, his cutie mark was an explosion and a blue shield (that represent his games he makes, which are mainly battle strategy based) which automatically gave Galaxy the impression that Flash was born to be a guard. This only fuelled her thirst for her son to be exactly like her father, and enrolled him in a guard trainee camp, where Flash was completely out of his element and his confidence dropped largely.

Time skip, and Flash was 17, still too afraid to stand up to his mother as she pushed him to try to live up to his grandfather's legacy. The last straw was when Galaxy destroyed all of Flash's gaming progress on his computer. When confronted about it, she dismissed the claim, saying that he was too old to be interested in video games anyway. He suddenly had enough and lashed out. 17 years of bottled up feelings and anger spilt out as he shouted at his mother, who stood there, shocked. That night, Flash packed his things and left to live at his friends house. Him and his mother have been estranged ever since

By the way, this is completely not canon in KindHeart's actual universe, it's just a small story I made in like five minutes. kindheart525 will probably make a much better version of this in the future
