I usually try to keep my genderbend version of my characters to be as similar to the original as possible, I think it makes the most sense ouo
She (he?) is still a jerk indeed!

same tbh
well, before having my tablet I used to draw with mouse so I'm kinda used to it X'D, it's easier than it sounds with paint tool sai since the linework layer lets you do a lot of neat stuff
and thanks ovo/

That's super cool! I don't use Sai so I don't have the luxury of using a linetool or anything like that. X'D I kinda just have to pump up the correction (line smoothening) tool in MediBangPaintPro and hope for the best. x-x I have ClipStudio Paint but haven't had a chance to really test it out- I've opened it up a few times but its 'feel' is so foreign to me it's hard to actually try drawing with it.Β
I dunno I just think that anyone who can actually use a mouse to draw even with a line tool is super talented- I've tried before and it just seems so hard to use that method. xD
Keep up the awesome work! And I hope you can get a new tablet pen soon- or that you are able to upgrade to a new model. TvT

I feel you on the foreing thing, when I first tried to use paint too sai it was like "wtf I'm doing" and I actually stopped using it and started to use photoshop instead, after some time I gave it some more shots at sai and finally got used to it, took me years to figure out some stuff but at the end it was worth it. If you draw with mouse some softwares (that I've used) that have "linework" tools are sai, photoshop, illustrator and animate cc, however I consider sai to be way easier to use for pictures in this style, if you ever want to give it another try to sai and want some tips just let me know ovo/
And thanks! I'm strongly considering the possibility of upgrading to a new model since the one I have is like 7+ years old, I'll think about my options throughout this month and hopefully will figure something out for the next year!Β

Unfortunately I'm not able to use SAI since I work with a MacBook Pro for my art-related needs. MediBangPaintPro works pretty well as an upgrade from FireAlpaca but I do wish it had more tools to work with in order to better refine my art and 'cheat' in a way. X'DD However I notice a lot of artists are using Procreate for iPad and I've been tempted to give that a try cause it looks like a need program.Β
And I would definitely recommend upgrading, but I understand that takes a lot of preparation and saving and researching- I certainly hope you can find a proper tablet you like. Personally I've always gone with Cintiq and I'm currently sporting a Cintiq Pro and it works pretty well aside from a few issues here and there- mainly with color calibration and the screen itself, but otherwise I just love the ability to draw on an actual 'monitor.'Β

It seems the color calibration is one of the hardest part of setting up a tablet monitor, I ran into similar issues setting up mine since the tablet colors didn't "align" with the ones in my laptop but other than that, the monitor itself has worked nicely, the pen is what has given me the most troubles and I assume it's becauseΒ they tend to be really fragile andΒ I'm really "careless" sometimes
Also I feel you about being able to draw in an actual monitor, is imo way more comfortable that using a normal tablet and that's the reason I skipped learning to use regular tablets and went directly to get a monitor in the first place, it's just more easy to interact with itΒ
