Well more than praying it would be like "paying respects" instead. Kira really values life and has a lot of respect for souls as they're basically one's essence and unique to each person, so in the past when she used to kill people she'd spend some minutes praying/paying respects to it before consuming it as she considered this was the least she could do; she still does it if she has the chance but since she doesn't kill people anymore it only happens rarely when she finds a wandering soul or when she's helping releasing a soul from a body

Even though there are demons and angels in my world there's not heaven nor hell, but there's the concept of spirituality and afterlife, There are no gods but there are very powerful beings that could be considered and worshiped as one which has spawned some religions as well though more than being considered religions formaly they'd be more like cults
