Um, I don't know how much you are into the Elder Scrolls lore, but I remember reading that there are Khajiit that look practically like a housecat, size and everything (and they can't speak the same language as everyone else, but can understand it). The different breeds of Khajiit are determined by the two moons (meaning one Khajiit can be born looking like a humanoid cat or they can look like a huge as heck jaguar).

Actually… there are, in fact, house cats in Tamriel. Play TES II: Daggerfall, and you'll see them around in the streets.

I still remember in Oblivion how oddly normal the area around Anvil was. It was all mountain lions and slaughter fish until you hit a pretty decent level. Modded one into a pet, kept it in Benirus Manor there in Anvil, figured that's about the ultimate home security system. "Oh my, look at all this loot! The loot of a thousand dungeons and all thes- OH MY GOD ITS GOT ME BY THE JUGULAR! GET IT OFF!!!"
