This is a sketch of my boy Chris'[link] character Shiro. Checkout the extended fam too.[link]

This sketch accomplished alot of things.

First, I owed it to him for like a year and it's finally done. I don't feel as guilty as I would normally because it was half of a trade and he STILL HASN'T DONE MINE YET! lol Anyway, I can finally sleep at night now.

The second thing it did was gave me a break from all the sequential "work" I've been doing and allowed me to just draw for the sake of drawing.

Third, I wanted to start practicing for the New York Con next week and get into sketch mode. I don't know what it is, the pressure or the excitement but it takes me a few tries before I can feel comfortable sketching at cons. Hopefully by next week I'll be "in the zone".

And last, I wanted to show people the kind of sketches I'll be doing at the con. I think it's crucial for people to find what works for them as individuals. I'm not a fast sketcher. Do I want to get faster? Sure. But I think it's important to be able to comfortably stand behind ones' work. No matter your skill level. If that's the best you can do, that's the best you can do. I want to give fans the best sketch I can, not feel rushed, and not churn out sketches for the sake of money. If that means taking a little longer than others, I'm cool with that. This is my lane and hopefully some people will like the ride.
