I posted this on my old account back when I though I'd actually be USING it. ...That didn't happen, so I'm putting one of my cosplay pictures up here.

Taken at PortCon Maine '09. Dear GOD L is so much fun to cosplay. C: ...Can you tell I have black contacts in, too? :]

EDIT: Just so you know, this was my FIRST time cosplaying L. It was also "L-con". A con of around 1,000 attendees, and there were at LEAST 20 (I was counting) other Ls there. ...Guess who everyone said was the best? ...And, for once, I didn't even deny it. Not because I'm cocky, but because I AM L, and I do not deny that I am the world's greatest detective, and who are YOU to tell me to wear shoes in the convention center?

I actually had the most fun interacting as L at this con. I actually had some awesome in-character discussions with fans ("But aren't you afraid of revealing yourself in public?" "...Well, I appreciate your concern, but you must understand, I'm risking my life for this case. I will go to any lengths to capture Kira.") ...Even more fun was had when I had the brilliant idea of shifting through the doujin in the dealer's room (with only 4/10 fingers, thanks.) ...I found an L/Light. Ohgod, the FACE I made in-character was hilarious. ("If I could reason anything about this, I'm sure my ability to reason would be greatly diminished...")

...It was also a last-minute whim right before the con. Seriously. Took two seconds to get everything ready, and almost an hour to put my black contacts in. ...Nonetheless, I felt pretty damn BAMF. I also walked out of the mens' room just as another L was walking in. IT WAS AWESOME. And then I found a book called "Justice Denied" in Borders... Oh, and I had no sweets on me. But people GAVE me sweets. And I gave a Misa cosplayer a rose. And rested my chin obnoxiously on a Light cosplayer's shoulder and looked over at his Death Note all, "Hello, Light-kun. What are you doing?" He SLAMMED it shut, turned around, and was like, "WHAT? Sometimes I have feelings and need to chronicle them!" ...I then declared that I loved him. His response? "I'm not falling for that one."

...Yeah. Thought you'd all appreciate my story of HOW I BECAME AN L COSPLAYER. Because face it. It's so... interesting!

(Fun fact - I WAS actually barefoot all con, that is the sunburn from HELL you see [Second only to Beyond Birthday's burns, ironically acquired at a gay pride festival. Talk about flaming...] and I will NEVER get that wig looking that nice again. ;_; )
