From previous: Some notes on the species: They tend toward female forms as they see females as the reproducers of the species and all gels can reproduce by macro-mitosis and budding. They are a symbiotic arrangement between a multicellular amoeba and a silicon based lifeform. Without the silicon brain/nucleus, they are essentially terrestrial jellyfish, minus the venom. Without the amoeboid body, the silicon brains/nuclei are immobile. When they move into the shared body arrangement, they are capable of form mimicry and are relatively intelligent, can operate and build complex machinery. They are not ideal technicians, however. Their technology tends to be oriented more toward finding new uses for their bodies.
