wut i due no undurstanΒ
... Ok, so that's not actually a good example of unintelligent conversation.Β In particular, I've seen plenty of people that have trouble with spelling and grammar but seem to understand the more important points of logical reasoning and respect, and that alone puts them ahead of a lot of the internet in terms of their ability to have a discussion.Β So, yeah...Β
Anyway, this stamp... I APPROVE!Β

I like the idea of this stamp, because we do need a stronger presence of intelligent conversation, both on the internet and in real life.

Ok, If I hear stuff like this:
"That coment tho. Thus is so awsom man-"
I'd swipe that sweat off my forehead, and keep those things to myself.
BUT WHEN IT COMES TO THIS:
"Omgs, I'm totally insane! Disorders are trendy, epsically when it has to do with lack of sleep! I'd party all night, and red eyes are totally my thing! I'd totally go out and kill someone right now, I have major problems, excuse my trendy discorder, folks, lol!"
Holy mother of Christ.
I'd just-
I-
I've heard this stuff on youtube too many timesΒ
they mostly come from the peeps who have CAT people for icons
I'd just snap their necks if I could

I meant "doesn't following rules" type of "chaotic". For example, murderers- they doesn't follow law ( Killing people is against law ) and they are evil.
π: 0 β©: 1
xX-Vortexis-Xx In reply to Tunder2510 [2014-05-28 18:09:10 +0000 UTC]
Evil are in fantasy only. Well, to me...Β
Myself I don't always "follow the rules" as some rules are perfectly stupid. I'm NOT a conformist. But is it mean I'm chaotic...? As long as I respect others, I don't think there is a problem.
Murdered are just "humans" that decided to "kill" (yes, it is against the law. We can also say it's some kind of "chaotic"). Why? There is fews reason : mental illness, jealousy, pure cruelty...to name a fews. To me, it is not evil, but come from a deep pain. Human is such a complex being.
Doesn't we said "evil" about a character we love to make it more appealing, and kind of love being mean and hurt others?
I'm just stating my opinion and does NOT mean I have the truth. Conversations can lead to a better understanding.Β
π: 0 β©: 1
Tunder2510 In reply to xX-Vortexis-Xx [2014-05-28 18:34:26 +0000 UTC]
I think that there can be completly evil people with no good reason.
I also sometimes break rules that i find unfair. And i think that if people can't control their emotions, then petty fatal flaws that even good people have ( Pride, envy, laziness, etcetera... ) can overgrow to something worse. Of course, there can be good excuse as mental illness or pain... but not always. Yes, i know murderers are people too, but if they have no exuse, i find them evil.
Of course, that is just mine opinion.

I really like this stamp, because it points out an important concept. Intelligent conversation reveals thought and allows people to learn from each other.
It enables folks to get to know each other much more deeply than shallowness allows for. When people listen to well-thought out ideas, amazing things happen.

I didn't see any particular Jew hating going on. I think he's a dick, but that is his right. The same rules that permit him to be a dick permit me to ignore him. I appreciate you trying to warn me of my art's proximity to a royal ass, but, honestly, if you don't want to see him being a douche, don't look. Arseholes are easy to avoid, being that they are loud and obvious. Think of how much more you could accomplish in life by simply saying, "That guy's life must completely suck!" and then going to find something interesting to do.
He has bad thoughts and doesn't understand how not to broadcast them. That's a shame. It doesn't have to be our problem.

jevvs In reply to pyromancy [2013-11-25 22:49:26 +0000 UTC]
If only his issue were that simple.
*Moleman9000 uses tropes invented in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion in his art, the Protocols being the basis of the Holocaust. He claims that these fictional tropes are "real" and derived from the history of our people, which is, as I'm sure you know, provably false. While holding these opinions indeed make him a dick and an arsehole, it's his death threats that I can't ignore.
He threatened to kill at least ten people here on dA, including me in a journal he wrote and since deleted (but refuses to apologize for) in July. Through a complex mess of fallacious reasoning, he's deduced from my Jewishness that he should kill me. He has another journal in which he says that he wants to personally murder many people who make him angry, and he's made three more death threats to other deviants since threatening me. Contrary to popular belief, nobody actually has the right to make death threats here on dA; as they're unprotected both by law and by dA Etiquette. They're also far removed from intelligent conversation.
To his credit, Moleman's resolve in using Protocols shit seems to be weakening as of late, but he nevertheless refuses to believe that you and I are not greedy media executives who control global commerce.

Death threats are bullshit if the person making them is not in your immediate presence with the ability to act upon them. Teenagers are rash and likely to say things that are ridiculous and over the top. I'm not defending him. I'm just saying that there are more important things in my life to worry about than who is trying to offend me and what their reasoning is. If he's a bigot, so be it. Everyone has some prejudice against something. I don't care enough about anything he says or does to even pay attention to it. I wouldn't have even known he existed without you pointing him out and I can think of at least twenty minutes of my life that I wouldn't have had to dedicate to a guy who is either a disturbed, opinionated, bigoted ass or a troll.
Time spent trying to "win" against him is time wasted. I don't know him. I will never meet him. If he, on some off chance, shows up in my life and makes an attempt on my life, I will make sure he pays dearly for it. Until then, I don't care.

Fair enough; this isn't the first time I've been threatened with death over the Internet, and my feelings toward the threat itself are roughly the same as yours. However, your general case must make exceptions for people more vulnerable than us.
That said, my intent in commenting here was to note the dissonance between intelligent conversation and a conversation stamped as intelligent, not to open another front in an Internet battle.

Please excuse this interjection, but have you reported the troll? If he's going around threatening people, he's breaking the ToS. Even if there doesn't seem to be much chance of him following up, he's still harassing people and causing unnecessary distress.
If you think there is even a slightest chance he will follow up, please go to the police? Although most threats online are mere posturing, it pays to be careful. Occasionally, it does turn out to be real.
I know, because I had to deal with a threat like that some years back. A creep decided to threaten me online over some ugly slander. He'd even gone as far as hacking my signature and spamming my email account with more threats! I thought it was just bad-tempered balloon juice, but my folks and I reported him to the cops and to the DA admins, as a precaution.
Well, it was real. It turned out that he was close by and had followed through on somebody else he'd abused similarly.
Β
I'll grant you, it not often that kind of thing happens (and that, in my case, itΒ came from some incredibly weird circumstances), but please take a few precautions, if you have not already done so?
