A quickie but a goodie.

I was reading Conan last night and as always the tragic female warrior just automatically appealed to me. Her back story is pretty f-ed up. For those that don't read Conan, The Widowmaker is actually Janissa, second daughter of a wealthy merchant. Instead of being pawned off to some Lord so the merchant could marry into nobility, Janissa ran off to the Bone Woman. Janissa told the woman that wanted to skill and strength and wanted to be equal to no man. The Bone Woman agreed that for however long it took for Janissa to acquire her skills, she would serve the Bone Woman for twice the length of the training. Janissa, as you can probably guess, accepted.

What's most tragic about her though is how she came to be that way. The Bone Woman threw her in a pit with a sword and said nothing as a demon attacked Janissa, who was at the time a helpless girl with no training at all. As she couldn't defend herself, the demon raped her. When she woke, the Bone Woman was there with food and water and practically no advice other than "Think on your mistakes, on what you might have done better." The next night, two more came and then three the night after. Every night if she didn't kill them, she'd be raped and brutalized until the same came up. When the sun went down, one more would come than the previous night. Janissa never remembered how long she was there but only after she slaughtered every demon that was sent at her for month did she finally become the Widowmaker.

Anyway, so here’s a quick sketch. A yes, that is a scar between her eye and mouth.
