If you really want to be a animator learn life drawing first. Being a skilled draftsman is a must. Am not sure if there's any animation schools from where you are?

Hm that sucks, you can maybe try it out. There the same idea but a little more complex. Mostly here in Ottawa are all 2D. Theres only one company that does 3D which Mercury again. There's a few in Toronto.
