Description
Some concepts I got done for the U.R.F. airships called "Zeps", some planes, and the Wuarl "Disjoncteur", a large bomber like ship designed to bust through blockades and bring in support for other ships. They have tough armor in the front, but they lack armor in the back. They shoot these nukes that are filled with a hallucinogenic combustible gas that works a lot like an EMP.Nothing too good...sorry...just thought it'll be cool to share, I'll work on this later.

Thanks! I don't like it one bit though.

So are these airships built with current/futuristic technology, or retro/steampunk-ish technology? It seems most airships I see are steampunk-based, so if these are modern or futuristic that might be pretty creative.

They were based off of a steampunk one back in the time. The planet is mainly land (60%) and air is a best way of travel. Imagine if you take a ship and you give it balloons and thrusters inside instead of masts and the guts needed to make it float.....yeah...

Then that makes perfect sense that you would use airships, because the planet is 60% land. So what kinds of weapons do these airships have?

Mostly anti air guns. They're used to make blockades so that enemy forces can't advance. Sometimes they'll have a hangar for a ship. But mostly anti air guns for airship skirmishes or others.

There are some called "MonzΓ³n de ferro" (monsoon of iron). They're mostly made by the Alpan nations due to the name being a mix of spanish and french. They just pelt a **** ton shells onto walkers or convoys while they move through clouds to as cover or create there own clouds.

Great-5 In reply to Pyrotactick [2012-06-06 21:52:32 +0000 UTC]
so the airships can create their own clouds? Interesting. Also, your universe has walkers too?

Yup! terrains too tough for tanks, tanks are mostly just walkers but with treads and move really slow.

Great-5 In reply to Pyrotactick [2012-06-08 21:56:23 +0000 UTC]
Yes walkers DO have that advantage over normal tanks, provided they're small enough to stay maneuverable, because the big problem with mechs is that if they're made to be too big they will not be able to move, they would just crush themselves under their own gravity. But if your planet has a lighter gravity than Earth then you have nothing to worry about :3
Oh, but also their legs can jam if something like sand or dirt gets caught in it.

Hm, true. Yet again my friend makes another conceptual element that deffies gravity!...yeah...basicly they stuff that inside the mech..it's many reasons why earthquakes are so deadly on the planet, one bigass shake and half the city is flying away at about 5 miles per hour. Although staking weight onto it lowers it's ability.
That's the fun part!

Great-5 In reply to Pyrotactick [2012-06-09 16:28:00 +0000 UTC]
So your friend's planet has much less gravity than Earth does?

Well his and mine...later were gona explain how his planet is now my planet or something like that. But below the surface, there's a state where gravity doesn't exist, if there's a rupture that leads to that area, the area would be uneven and rise above the ground until it reaches a state where the element has dissipated into the air (it's dust like) or slowly sink into.

Wow, trippy. Reminds me of one of my planets, Akasha. It's a "gas dwarf" (like a gas giant only not gigantic, only about the size of Earth) with no real "solid" ground, instead there are many floating continents and islands in the planet's "sea" of gases and atmosphere, and the Safhirim, the winged, angel-like humanoid aliens native to the planet, either live in floating cities above the continents, or cities and settlements built into the continents themselves. The continents are home to a variety of bizarre creatures such as flying cats that generate rainbow jet streams, flying blue lobsters that shoot plasma out of their claws, winged unicorns (which can be domesticated and ridden by the Safhirim) and exploding, mobile cacti, the latter of which somewhat resemble creepers from Minecraft.
However the really weird part is that in the spaces between the floating continents, there is no gravity. There is only gravity on the floating landmasses themselves, but in the "seas" of atmospheric gases between islands and continents, you can just float effortlessly around. Well also the planet has only about 75% of Earth's gravity, since it is roughly only 0.75 the size of Earth. USG marines who established bases on Akasha were utterly confused by the lack of gravity in some parts, as it messed with their vehicles and equipment. I still have yet to come up with a good scientific explanation for how Akasha has no gravity on some areas, because honestly, it defies the laws of physics. But I guess it may be best as a mystery.

"My compas is pointing north ten seconds before..."
"And?"
"Before that, north was south west."
true, I like mysteries

Great-5 In reply to Pyrotactick [2012-06-11 19:39:08 +0000 UTC]
Yes it's probably true that bizarre Akasha's gravity field would totally screw with any kind of compass readings. Hence the reason the USG marines probably had to use some sort of GPS-like satellite locator device in lieu of a conventional compass.
Then I shall leave it a mystery :3

And not just any unicorns, but biomechanical unicorns at that!
All sentient/sapient life forms on Akasha are biomechanoids...

Yep, because robots kick ass. Even/especially semi-organic ones! But the real question is, are they skill considered robots then?

Even if they're close to naturally-occurring and can reproduce on their own to create more cyborgs who are already born as cyborgs? Well life on Akasha was created by this one H'ruun scientist who ascended and became a Vek'hu (godlike being who can manipulate reality,) he created the first couple of Safhirim and other life forms, but then they started rapidly evolving on their own, becoming as close to "naturally-occurring" as biomechanoids can be. All this happened several thousand years ago, so development of Akashan life happened WAY faster than evolution here on Earth!

It look good.
Did you tried to draw with something else, a pencil is better I think. A simple pen is not really god to draw with.
And you should draw more often How many time are you drawing in a week ? month ?

Thanks! I don't think it does...I'm gona get some concept art for vehicles hopefully.
Not a lot, finals are horrible...but I'm gona get some stuff out once they're over.
