Two in one this time! Today I drew Middleton and Duorift.

Middleton was the first person to ever join Mama's "colony," which at the time was a makeshift shack built from the one and a half remaining rooms of some ruined building in the mountains. At the time, Mama's daughters had just hatched and she was struggling to survive while also keeping them fed and loved. Middleton was a godsend, a 19 year old deserter from the imperial military. The boy helped her repair the shack, fight off bandits, and feed her children (being a saurid Mama was unable to breastfeed). As such, he and Mama developed a strong bond, and he is in a way the girls' adopted older brother.

Duorift was a 15 year old raider and the third ever member of the colony, having been subdued by Mama and Middleton during a raid. Touched by his young age and talented potential, Mama took him in, vowing to give him his remaining childhood free of violence and danger. It was not always easy, and Duorift did see the occasional perilous adventure, but with Mama he found love and security he had not been shown as a young raider.

Over time, Duorift and Middleton became inseparable friends, and to this day are respected members of the colony and, when necessary, experienced guards. The two have been on many adventures together and have saved each other's lives countless times.
