Something i've needed to admit for a very long time.No pretty visual.
No facts.
No percentages.
No poem.
No, sub context word.
Just.. something we all need to admit.
Three words so hard.
I hate the saying 'real men don't rape'
I like whoever came up with it... but it brings much questions.
If a man is respected in society.. but in secret mutilates girls.. is he a Real man?
Or if a man beats people.. is a complete asshole.. but doesnt.. rape.. is he a real man?
Who... when... where... why... how...
Doesnt matter.
Fully or partially..
Fought them off or not.
Young or Old.
Vague or detailed.
It doesnt matter.
Admittance does.
It's the only way we can move on.

this is why i generally hate my own gender, and believe it or not it's possible to rape a guy. though technically i wasn't (used would be the word I'd chose) my experience has had a negative effect on me. i have no idea how close it is to being raped but i haven't had sex since (about 2 years)...and don't plan to any time soon (shiver).

i never really know what to say to these things.
i hope you can heal and progress with your life the best you can and realize that not all men are like that.
and also that you can have wonderful experiences in the rest of your life that will create an offset and give you a balance to this horrible thing that has happened.
i have to admit though that it angers me immensely when i hear these things.
i know several very beautiful young women that were raped by someone they new when they were quite young. it always seems to be a family member and i never feel like you hold a grudge. it's quite confusing to me since i have very black and white feelings for those animals. maybe i'm making an assumption about your sitch.

We've both been through this. And I whole heartedly agree with you. "real men don't rape" bullshit. Men do it to over power women, to feel more "manly" Guhh.
Anyway. I takes guts to come out about it. It took me 2-3 years to say anything... And now...I just accept it. I don't blame myself anymore. There was nothing th at I could have done.

being a real man is in fact, being an adult and an well-balanced man. That's why a real man don't rape, and why he doesn't mutilate, and why he doesn't beat anybody even if he doesn't rape somebody. A real man doesn't need to do that. He is confident and he know how to manage his agressivity.
Maybe it will help you to understand that point.
For the rest... well, I heard these words so many times, and I know that I will continue to heard it. I just want to let you know that somebody read it and listen to it. So in a way, you are not alone.
