'Its been 7 years since the development of the Collins-Chen Warp field emitter, but aside from scientific demonstrators and commercial test-beds no successful venture has produced a warp capable ship.

Until now.

Designed primarily for scouting and exploration, the Zephyr is the UEDF's first fully warp capable vessel, able to generate a field wide enough for itself and a small squadron of frigates, sending them to other planets and or star systems in a fraction of the time as normal travel would allow.

The armaments of the cruiser weight Zephyr are minimal, boasting only one destroyer-weight spinal accelerator and a pair of torpedo tubes for its offensive loadout, but it does bear a sufficient defensive arsenal to match military craft of a similar class. The ship also possesses 2 hangar/cargo holds and extensive sensor systems alongside the highly noticeable warp field emitter (WFE) making it an ideal scout or explorer, despite its larger size.

The Zephyrs launch signals an end to the current era of space travel, allowing for daring new tactics, massive overhauls of trade and communications and a means to establish functional relations with far flung colonies and explore the greater galaxy.'

So here's the latest in my UEDF lineup - A light Jumpship, which here just drags other ships with it into warp. Think if homeworld and star trek FTL had a baby.

I was only going to do a quick sketch, but 6 hours later, there it was xP

I like to imagine that i've learned a lot in painting this one, I tried a new technique for the windows, hangars and engines and i've gotta say; I like how its turned out! >
