Description Thomas found himself heading towards the home of the girl again. It had been a few months since he had bitten and left the girl alive. Normally he would move on but the vampire truly hated to 'leave a job half finished'. But his promise to leave the girl alive still held. He had other things in mind for her.
The vampire had done something he had only considered in the last hundred years- settled down. He had purchased a large historical Victorian home a few towns over. The only problem was that he needed someone willing- or unwilling, he didn't care- to keep it in top-notch condition for him. She was just the girl for the job. He smirked, his little furry nose wrinkling.
The little tan bat made its way to the girl's house, drifting on the wind. He beat his wings lazily once or twice before landing in the yard in front of her house. He peered in the window and saw her sitting in the living room with the lights out. She was watching television and he smirked. Thomas turned to his mist form and slipped in the window.
She hardly noticed the presence of something inhuman in the room until he turned into his normal self, lounging beside her on the couch. "Not afraid to be alone and up late I see." He smirked, showing his growing fangs.
Ashlen looked up suddenly, startled. He was back? Why? She figured he was here to finally kill her. The girl's eyes narrowed and she frowned. "No. I'm not going to let you ruin my life just by biting me."
Thomas smirked at her. What a cute little girl, thinking that she was all brave. "Vell that's good." He tucked his muscular arms behind his head and sighed comfortably. This was a very soft couch. "Some people become very paranoid, and so irrationally afraid of things." He leaned closer to her, letting her smell the blood from his last meal. "I once made a young woman faint just by mentioning fangs."
She moved back and frowned, nervous but angry. "Well I'm not scared of you."
"Vhatever you tell yourself." He stood up, smirking. She looked confused.
"Get out of here." The girl demanded immediately. She didn't want to risk her parents waking and finding him and certainly didn't want to have to fight him off again.
"Sure, sure," Thomas wasn't facing her so she couldn't see the growing smirk on his face. He swirled around and grabbed the girl's wrist, pulling her into his arms. She paled and tried to pull away but he forced her to look into his eyes. "But you are coming vith me." Slowly his grey eyes turned red and Ashlen shut her eyes, refusing to be mesmerized by him.
"No!" She cried. He growled and clapped his hand over her mouth. As she continued to fight his grip Thomas forced her head back and sank his fangs into her neck. She screamed in pain, but it was barely audible since his hand was firmly placed over her mouth as a muffler.
As he continued to drink the girl grew less stiff. She slowly went limp and he knew he had to draw away, for the second time. He pulled his fangs out of her neck and licked the blood from the wound until it stopped bleeding. Ashlen clapped her hand over the bites and groaned. He had taken so much blood… not enough to kill her, but definitely enough to knock her out. She went limp in his arms, unable to stay conscious.
The vampire smirked once again and lifted her into his arms. She was breathing shallowly. This was a signal that the girl wouldn't wake until the next night. Perfect, just enough time for him to make it look like she had run away. Since he couldn't turn into a bat or a cloud of mist and still carry her, he held the girl bridle style and opened the window. He slid out feet first, careful not to knock her head on the wooden frame.
Thomas shifted her weight carefully before floating up in the air, flying towards his home. A vampire had to train for days just to keep themselves up in the air after jumping, longer to keep their balance, and even longer to be able to lift off just by rising up on their heels. He thought about how he would be teaching her this in roughly a year.
Instead of continuing to let his mind drift on the future he shook his head, clutching Ashlen to his chest and fixing his softly oiled blonde hair quickly into place again. He picked up speed after doing this and arrived at his home in roughly half an hour. The vampire entered through the back porch door that faced the courtyard and then the forest, walking easily up the marble steps and in the front door. He quickly jogged up the stairs before tucking her into an unused bed in a room that he called the guest bedroom, though there were never any guests but meals that came wandering in, led by deception.
As soon as the shivering teenager was tucked comfortably into a bed he left, going to take her things from her room.
****
The next night, just as he had predicted, the girl finally woke. Ashlen held her head and groaned slightly, remembering Thomas's attack. She touched her neck but winced away from the still sore wounds. As the girl blinked more awake, shaking off the grog of forced sleep, she realized this was not her room. Well, not her normal room anyway. There were two empty suitcases sitting in an open closet across the room and everything from her room appeared to be here- Her books were stacked carefully on a shelf, knickknacks and old stuffed animals were on a shelf above the bed and the tiny stands of a large dresser with a mirror over the desk that took up most of the wall she was facing. Her posters were hung neatly but messily at the same time, just the way they had been before. But it was still all different.
This was not her furniture- it was older and looked antique, but sturdy and pretty. The floor was hardwood and the sheets on the large bed were red, with white trim. She was pretty sure this was NOT her room. But where exactly was she? She guessed Thomas had taken her somewhere after knocking her out.
Ashlen stood and crossed the room, looking into the mirror. She leaned close to it and examined the bite marks. They looked pretty savage. He had been rather determined to get to her without trying to be gentle, apparently. But why? He hadn't killed her. He hadn't turned her apparently and she didn't feel any need to call him 'master'. In fact very different descriptive words came to mind for him. While she looked at herself in the mirror Thomas slipped into the room and leaned against the wall. "Like your new room?"
The girl jumped before glaring at the mirror. Just like the stories, he had no reflection. She made a mental note to give herself a swift kick for letting her guard down, after finding out what was going on that is.
