Because she looks bad aaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssss.But on topic, in my book Renee is a human (duh) and lives with her mom and dad as nomadian survivors of the Grimpocalypse. Alan is in a wheelchair but it doesn't really slow them down. Renee is missing an eye, but the technology isn't advanced enough to provide her a replacement.
