Description Actually, she had a big reason not to bite XL- she still liked him. Almost a month on Planet Z had hardly changed her personality. The hours of training, which meant hunting and fighting, were exhausting. She had her ears flicking up and down, almost constantly listening for Nos-4-a2’s approach. She wasn’t exactly waiting excitedly any more, though. One thing Zurg had managed to stick with her was the constant mentioning of how Nos would not like having competition at all. “I doubt he’ll let you live a week.” He had even told her once.
Of course Renee didn’t trust or want to believe Zurg, but the words stung. Nos wouldn’t like competition. She thought about how uncomfortable he had been when she started showing the first signs of energy vampirism. Would the next step have been anger? She started sketching out new ideas for machine designs on her Planet Z notepad in attempt to drive the terrible idea away. It was a small spider-like thing with a simple design and an AI chip, but it couldn’t talk. It also had a personality matrix so it could express some real emotion.
Renee grumbled angrily and sat up on her bed. She was still in the suite she had woken up in a month ago, except now it looked more like a teenager’s room. There were countless other designs for the spider bot crumpled up and piled around the trash can. The grubs waited on her day and night whenever she got free time. So, life was pretty good. If you could call it a life at all. “Hello?” She looked around for the, again, invisible speaker. “Can I go hunting?”
“Of course you can!” Zurg clapped his hands. He loved it when she went hunting because Renee would disappear and come back later full and happy. The girl could take out four of five hornets in one feeding and was gaining control of her strength.
“Thanks.” She got up and dropped the notepad, wrapping her cape tight. Her boots made short slapping sounds as she walked down the hall. Her mane had grown out some and now it reached down past her shoulders. The girl started to pull back her hair into a ponytail. Learning the hard way to keep it out of the way when hunting was reminder enough to keep it tied back. She pressed a button on the door to open it up into the hornet training fields.

Nos was trying to get his ship started. He slammed his fist into the lid. Everything was fine, but the stupid lid wouldn’t shut! He needed to get to Planet Z and stop Zurg from tainting his pet. If she had become a vampire Zurg was definitely going to take advantage of it. He hated that this had happened. There was also the fact that it was his fault- he had overlooked the fact that feeding on her like that was going to have its affects.
So now she probably was an energy vampire as well. Consequently he would have to take care of her- oh this was a mess. The robot slammed his fist into the lid and it fell onto his other hand. He jerked and tried to get the trapped hand out. He managed to worm it out and the lid closed the rest of the way. “Ah, excellent.” He smiled and went to open it again. The lid wouldn’t budge. “Nyah!” He punched the ship’s roof. This was going to take forever.

“Aren’t we going to start a rescue mission yet?!” Alan begged Buzz. He had been pleading with the commanding officers all month to launch a rescue for Renee.
“I’ve told you before Alan, it’s too risky.” Buzz sighed at his friend. “We’ll have to wait until she comes to us.”
“If she comes to us it will be too late!” Alan hissed. “Zurg is probably doing crazy experiments on her, Buzz!” The man was desperate to get his daughter back. Renee was a good girl- she didn’t deserve this. Now Zurg had her and was doing god-knows-what to her insides.
“We’re all worried.” Buzz assured him. “We’ll get your daughter back okay Alan.” The Zephyrite slumped and sighed. He felt useless and left behind on the rescue attempts. Now she had been gone for almost two months. He knew Star Command was trying, but maybe for different reasons than he was. He and XL seemed like the only two who really wanted her back. Everyone else just didn’t want another villain hanging around the galaxy.
~~~
Nos had given up on the ship for now and was doing some busy work just to keep himself from exploding. He had no way to get off this rock whatsoever and it was wearing thin on his patience. The vampire was hunting more often, trying to keep himself fully charged. The prey population was going down faster every day. People knew he was here now thanks to Zurg, and he had to get off the planet before someone caught him. While normally he would just finish and jet off to Trade World, he needed to go save Renee.
Tossing a pair of her jeans towards the trash can, there was a short and familiar metal-on-metal jingling sound. He went to pick up the jeans again and found a pair of keys in the back pocket. These were the keys to the ship Renee had stolen from Star Command. It had been taken back. Of course. No luck there, unfortunately. The vampire clenched a fist and threw the keys away. Back to work on the ship then.
Renee wiped a bit of the servo fluid she had accidentally spilled off of her lip and came back inside the castle. Her heart was racing thanks to the nanites she had to feed and needed to blow off steam. She grabbed a rope and used it like the classic jump rope toy and started skipping, moving her wrists so fast that she tripped over the rope. The girl took a deep breath and forced herself to slow down. She was stronger now and always did a lot of exercise after feeding. More changes were going on inside her body as the microscopic bots reproduced and adapted their host’s body. Her fur was beginning to fall out all too easily, and it was thinner. She was always energetic because of how fast her blood was flowing, but when she got up in the morning it was nearly impossible. She was also aware of a constant tingling sensation all over her innards.
The changes had stopped fazing her a week ago. She was accepting it well and didn’t personally care what she was becoming any more. There was no reason to. “Welcome back! I trust the feeding was good.” Zurg walked down the stairs from his throne as she passed, trying to get to her room to finish exercising. He had tried to talk to her as a boss or even friend a few times but she always shoved him off, often cursing at him rather mercilessly if he got to insistent.
“Same as usual.” She grumbled and kept jumping rope. Nos had taught her to hate Zurg well, but it was mostly because he was keeping her here. But she withstood him, because he fed her and allowed her to have a lot of what she wanted, freedom excluded.
“You won’t have to burn your energy like that much longer.” Zurg pointed out. She looked at him with mild confusion. “Because your body will need all of it.”
“I knew that.” She kept jumping rope. “So, why would Nos kill me again?” She liked seeing him squirm.
“My ‘son’ cares about you or he would have killed you the first time he bit you.” Zurg followed the rope with his eyes but got dizzy and stopped. “But he won’t like competition.”
“Stop calling him that.” Renee ignored the last part. “He hates it.”
“I KNOW he hates it.” The emperor crossed his arms. “But it’s true, because I built him.” Suddenly he smiled and tapped his chin. “That makes you my granddaughter!” Zurg laughed.
“No it doesn’t!” Renee got mad and stopped jumping. “How would it make you my grandpa?!” He chuckled.
“Well, you’re kind of like his daughter aren’t you?” He smiled. This was fun.
“No! He may have accidentally turned me into an energy vampire but he’s not my dad!” She said defensively. This was ridiculous. “So you’re not my grandpa!”
“I’d think so,” Zurg poked her nose. “Because his nanites run thick through your veins. You. Are. Nos-4-a2’s. Technical. Daughter.”
“No biologically!” She growled. Now he was making her feel awkward. She had feelings for her master and it was weird to think of him as her father. But the vampire had made her into what she was, but less as a mentor than an annoying, embarrassing, and somewhat caring power figure. “Oh no.” She palmed her forehead angrily. “He’s my second dad.”
“And I’m you’re grandpa!”  Zurg laughed.
“Second grandpa!” She hissed. “Not even technically because even if you built him he hates you!”
“I hated my father to.” Zurg waved dismissively. Suddenly he grabbed her in a crushing hug.
“Stop that! Lemme go!” She kicked against his hard suited chest. In an insane attempt to get her new ‘grandpa’ off her she sank her fangs into his shoulder. She would normally hate the taste of anything alive now but was perfectly okay with biting someone she hated. To the vampire’s surprise she found machinery. Drawing the electricity from what was obviously and surprisingly a cyborg she gasped quickly. Zurg threw her off with a shriek.
“What are you doing?!” He demanded angrily. Renee got up and wiped herself off. She glared at him hatefully.
“You’re a cyborg?!” She countered with a new question. He suddenly looked nervous. It had never occurred to her or Nos-4-a2 to check him for an energy signature. Now she knew.
“So, you found me out?” He put a hand on the bite. He hoped to all that was good and evil she wouldn’t try and use her powers to overpower him now. He had extensive injuries from certain battles and wouldn’t have survived without repairs. “You wouldn’t hurt your grandpa, would you?”
Renee raised an eyebrow and smiled cruelly. “Of course not. But…” She held it out. “You’ll stop trying to convince me he’s going to kill me or I may just have to use these.” She bared her teeth. Zurg winced. She had already bitten him once and he practically had to give her what she wanted or Renee could kill him. Or worse, use him as a continual food source.
The idea had, of course, come to Renee as well. If she bit him again she would be ruler of the galaxy.
