Renée realized it was going to take forever to get to Trade World on autopilot. She sat back, trying to relax her aching muscles. She carefully slipped the operating chip back into her eye. Placing the cover on, she sighed with relief. It felt good to be whole again. Then it was back to business. She needed to figure out how to locate Nos without attracting attention. He had to fix this. She wanted her life back.“Nos-4-a2, you better know how to fix me or I’m going to kick your ass to Zeta.” She growled under her breath, knowing she couldn’t really pull it off. She was just blowing off steam. Renee laid back the seat quietly. She flicked on the radio and listened to the drone of some of earth’s classic rock, tuning out of real life to asses her problems. First of all; how was she going to avoid Alan and the rangers? Second; how in the galaxy was she going to find her master?
A short, cutting thought hit Renee. It was more of a radioed command than a thought. ‘Come to me, my pet’. She blinked suddenly. What excellent timing… he wanted her to come. But where to? Her arms twitched suddenly. “Oh-“ She looked down in surprise when, in response to the command, she involuntarily changed the autopilot coordinates for capital planet. “Oh, right, implants.” She sat back and sighed again, rubbing her arms sorely.
Why was he on Capital Planet, and why did he want her now? Renee shrugged. It didn’t matter for the moment, as long as he could help her.

Nos-4-a2 was chasing a small butler robot that had come out to empty the trash. His wings were spread wide, closing in for the kill. He had to be quiet because it was the middle of the day, but on this planet people had the tendency, no, the nerve, to turn most of their helpers off at night. The tiny machine turned around and cringed at the energy vampire. Nos reached out to grab it and it punched him defiantly in the chest.
Nos backed up for a second and rubbed his chest before he went after it again. “Come to me, my pet.” He crooned evilly. His monocle glowed brightly as he motioned for the bot to follow him into the darkness. It froze, trying to fight the hypnotism. Ducking forward before the butler could do anything more, Nos grabbed it and sank his fangs into the robot’s power pack.
The tiny machine shrieked and squirmed in pain. It flailed, slowly losing energy as Nos savored every amp that came out of its body. Finally it stopped and dropped limply. The energy vampire had finished sapping his prey dry and began stripping the little body for parts. He was trying to put his ship back together, working only with what he had. He had only been here for roughly a week, having decided to move from Trade World. No one knew he was here yet, but prey was already growing scarce. He had to come out during the day at this point because people were getting word of a ‘bot napper’.
He smiled cruelly and tossed the shredded machine behind him, holding up a key component to his ship’s operating system in his claws. There was a short beep, shattering the momentary silence, and he looked down. His communicator had just signaled a transmission- he had been unknowingly calling someone since the butler punched him. He shrugged and shut off the communicator. It had been set to a frequency only those under his mind control would get, and not a single thing that was not on the scrap heap came to mind. Oh well.

Alan’s eyes swam in space’s sea of infinite black as Buzz piloted them towards Trade World. “Unfortunately,” XR looked at the rangers skeptically. “The ship she took was the stealth prototype seven. Virtually untraceable, even by Star Command’s own operatives. She’s going to be one tough bugger to find.”
“Don’t talk about her like that.” Alan snapped at him.
“Renee may have strayed onto the path of evil before, but she must have had a good reason to run.” Buzz looked out the window, his face a plaster mask.
“Don’t try to start with me either, Lightyear.” Alan hissed. “You were the one who started threatening her back there. You don’t care a single iota about my daughter.” He poked the ranger in the chest angrily.
“Alan! That’s not true!” Buzz turned around. He voice grew in volume, but only a little. “I only want your daughter’s safety.”
“I’m sure.” Alan looked out the window angrily. He waved a hand toward them. He was destroyed- Buzz, his oldest friend, wanted to see Renee locked up. He was sure the rest of the team, excluding Booster maybe, wanted it to. Renee was stuck under the mind control of that damn vampire, forced to do his bidding. She could get hurt or end up hurting someone else-
A horrible thought struck Alan. What if Nos-4-a2 planned to feed off of her? He shivered uncontrollably. Before it would have just been stealing the battery out of her eye, but now she had those bands, especially the one on her neck… an image of the vampire’s fangs showed up in his mind and he wiped it out like a dirty bug off the star cruiser wind shield. The stain of the idea haunted him though.

Renee looked down on Capital Planet. Her ship tilted downward towards alliance plaza, going in for an automated landing. The sun was setting and Renee was beginning to feel the full effect of today’s mental stress. Her eye drooped, tired. It had taken a long time to get from Star Command to Capital Planet, almost five hours. No one had tailed her, which was odd. She had figured everyone was going to be looking for her.
She switched off autopilot upon entering the atmosphere, not wanting to park anywhere obvious. She turned the stolen cruiser towards the park, planning to land somewhere near the richest district. She looked down and realized the ship had a cloaking device installed. Renee pressed the button and smiled, glad no one could see her. The whole goal of this was to be discreet anyway.
The girl pulled the ship down into a gentle landing in an ally. It felt like the right place to park. Renee looked around the ally, searching for some sign of Nos-4-a2. She kicked some of the garbage around. It looked like some sloppy butler had spilled the trash and split. She stepped on something glass and it shattered under her foot, cutting into the heel of her tennis shoe. Looking down, Renee found the eye of a trashed robot under her heel. She reached down and began sifting through the pieces, slipping the keys to the rocket into her pocket. She found what she was looking for- a battery pack with two familiar bite marks. This ally was crawling with his presence and it buzzed in her skull.
“Hey!” A man walked up behind her. It wasn’t really a man- it was a large Binipenardian guard in a heavy mechanical suit.
