Biography: Born in her mother’s Romani village in Năvodari, Romania, and raised in Chiswick, London, Evelina is the youngest of four siblings and the only mutant. Powers manifest when she’s twelve, causing her anthropologist father to pay her an uncomfortable amount of attention, beginning to see her more as a scientific object than as a daughter. After her mother passes away due to a degenerative neurological disorder, she travels to America at 16 in attempts to find the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters, but due to a series of misfortunes, ends up being recruited into the Brotherhood. Reluctantly joins the X-Men after Nightcrawler saves her life, leading her to abide by the laws of her culture and owe him a life debt.
