sorry to bug ya with more questions but e=while im at it howd you get the head so good? Is it a layer mask? Also while trying to find my head stock i play around with it and none seem to fit right. I sthere something i can do bout that? Thanks for your help from earlier also! Ive got everything else down but these few things ive asked ^.^

Both the head and feet are blended in with layer masks. I also used the Levels slider to mess with the shading to get it to fit more. For the head, remember that the position of the head on the model doesn't really mean anything (if you'll be replacing most of it, like in this one). If you get head stock that looks like it matches the way the body is turned, it'll work out.

ok thanks for the info. is there a specific way to size the head?

If you hold shift while resizing (in PS on a PC, anyway), it'll scale the layer without changing its relative dimensions, so you can match head size without distorting it at all.

also is there a special way to match color to color? or is that layer masks also?

There's a tool called Match Color under the Adjustments panel, but I usually find that I can get better color matching by hand through a combination of the Hue/Saturation, Color Balance and Levels sliders. I just fiddle with the sliders until I get something that matches well by eye.

Ive tried this and i dont really get how to resize images. is it different from free transforming an image?

If you use the Move tool (the top one in the default CS5 setup), and hold Shift when you click and drag on one corner of the box around the layer you have selected, you can resize the layer without changing the ratio of height to width, which is really useful for resizing things like heads. I occasionally will use Warp to get a layer to, say, follow the jaw line or something better, but I usually use that with smaller bits like horns or ears than with large things, since it tends to distort things as you move them around.

..this seems a little rushed. I mean it's not like your usual work with the epicly smooth blending and photofinishing....it just seems...off

Well, I've always found color blending to be one of my weak spots, but apparently you think I do a better job of it than I give myself credit for. The head did give me...issues...on this one. Another thing you might be picking up on is the lack of a fur smudge pass around the body. Dobermans have very short coats, so I felt it was inappropriate. However, that means my typically sloppy edging job becomes a little more apparent (usually the fur pass hides it - losing the fur lining was a late decision). I rarely spend more than two hours or so on any morph, so I guess all of them end up being a little rushed in one way or another.

Actually, good catch. The hair was supposed to be there, but two layers got flipped. Can't believe I hadn't noticed it.
