Description Request for , looking like he’s just randomly TF’d into a Zoroark. I would have included a Zoroark in the earlier group shot, but I knew I had this one coming up soon and held off.

I'd definitely agree that practice is the best thing for learning this. Even if you think that you first couple images suck, every one you make helps you to get better at using the PS tools. If you have any questions about how I did any effects or different parts of any of my morphs, feel free to ask and I can walk you through it.

It takes a couple steps, but none of them are too complicated

1)Find an animal photo who's head is positioned similarly to the subject's, and drag it onto your PS screen to import it.
2)Use the Lasso tool to select around the head, and then cut it out to a new layer.
3)Reposition it to where it needs to be, and resize if necessary to be the same size as the human head (if you hold down shift, you can resize without changing the aspect ratio, which is nice for things like this)
4)Add a layer mask, and use a medium hardness brush (I usually use about 40%) to paint out the bits around the animal head that you don't want to show. I also use this to paint out the parts that would be covered by head hair, if I'm leaving any.
5)Switch to a soft brush, and set the Opacity to 20% or so. Go over any hard edges where the animal head meets the human body to blend it in more and make the seams less noticable.

Well, for the basic stuff, I'd check out the tutorial I have up in my gallery (it's in a separate folder). For the more advanced tools, I'd say the ones I use the most frequently are Clone Stamp, Puppet Warp, Liquify, and the Levels sliders. Dodge/Burn isn't really an advanced technique, but I didn't learn how to use it well until after I'd made that tutorial.

Clone Stamp - Takes a sample of part of a photo by Alt-clicking, and you can then paint that area over other things like a brush. Really useful for painting out things you don't want to see, like regular feet when you're doing digitigrade paws, or parts of the head that stick up over the animal one.

Puppet Warp - lets you set a bunch of joints on a layer, and then move the joints around to change the shape of the layer. I use it mainly for tails and feet.

Liquify - this brings up a separate screen, which allows you to stretch and pull parts of a layer like silly putty. On the Zoroark, I used this to make the ears and muzzle more pointed than a regular fox's, and to elongate the nails into claws. This one can be really hard to get right, and takes the most practice.

Levels - the level sliders let you change the brightness, contrast and tone of a layer. I use this primarily for shading. Dodge/Burn can achieve the same effects, but levels tend to be more uniform, so I use it when I'm doing a larger area and only use D/B for small areas or areas where I need to do fine edging work or highlights

Gimp's actually got a lot of the same tools. You just might have to look around for them a bit

Anyways, these manipulations are quite awesome at best, and pretty much like everyone else, I'm hoping that maybe one day, I'll be able to do this too. That's how awesome you are with these: an inspiration for many!

Besides that, I just noticed the mic on the desk, and I believe it's the same one that I had been thinking of getting... (Okay, randomness over. *Sound-bricked*)

I won't say it isn't hard to do these, but I will say that getting started isn't as hard as you'd think. All you really need is a photo editing program (most of what I do can be done on the much cheaper Elements line, or even on a free program like Gimp), some stock photos, and a bit of time to experiment. I never had any classes or anything before I started, and I started off just fooling around, learning what all the buttons did and watching tutorials on Youtube. And don't worry if your first attempts "look bad." So did mine - just look at this one ([link] . The more you practice with the various tools, the better at using them you get.
