I actually like this kind of style with the 3d art here. Personally I think adding a basic background might help with seeing the art because the watermark hiding a lot of the piece and its hard to see when trying to focus on the character.

It keep people from being able to steal your art, its a symbol of who made it. I personally don't uses it cause of the clutter it makes on the image. If you still want one try making your own instead of using the implemented one that DA provides.

usually its a signature or short version of the artist pen name, made on a .png so it can be uses multiple times. For a simple basic one, if you have gimp, uses the text tool, type out your username, and have the image be transparent and save it as a .png, when you want to uses it on an image copy and paste it and rotate if need be.
