Yes, amazing what people with money can request to be done with the dead bodies of thousand people buried there... there is even a coat of arms made with bones, I already loaded that one and some more to come soon!;D

This place is beautiful but seriously creepy. What's the history behind it? I'm really curious how someone got these human bones in order to arrange them like this.

This was a small village church in the Czech Republic, Kutná Hora, with a chapel underneath with limited room outside to bury the bodies, so when the black plague and the bohemian wars started taking place, they started digging the bodies up that were buried over 10 year old and started piling them up in the basement of the church, the now called bone church or chapel, and buried the new bodies in, which every 10 years would be empied, and so on. So they ended up with a bunch of bones, I believe it's the church which commanded a carpinter in the area F. Rint... in 17... can't remember but there is another pic with the date on it... to do something decorative with them. And well.. check all the other pics I have of this place on my folder Death and macabre.

Yes, last September... I nearly didn't go because getting there was too expensive on arranged tour bus, and going on your own was a bit scary in a country where you don't speak the language, but I said to myself... "what the hell, I want those pics very badly, so off we go, we'll find it and it will be fine", and so it was. It wasn't so difficult to find and it was all prepared at the station to find your way to the bone church. So totally recommend it if you ever go to visit Prague do one day excursion to this bone church
