Depends on the method! There was specific magic involved in her birth that results in the offspring primarily coming out as the birth mother's species. Though she does still have pegasus-magic and such.

You know how Pony Genetics require a brand new field of study on Celestia University.
Think... If Twilight is an Alicorn now... is there a chance that her children have wings?
Or can Alicorn be bred from unicorn and Pegasi?
And would it get the crown imidiately then?

We know that the traits of each pony type are recessive (see: the cakes)... perhaps Twilight's alicorn transformation was merely expressing traits that were already there but inactive.
And though it's less obvious, Lauren Faust has said that Alicorn also have earth-pony traits.

Well, that is quite understandable, mainly becouse they're a combination of 3 previous types.
We should make a genetic cross to check if treats are indeed recesive, dominative, or maybe cooperative?
And if gener responsible for wings, or horn are bound together some way.
Maybe allicorna are actually just mutants?
