Do you ever have those times when the night feels like it's full of magic? When everything seems to glitter as a reprise from the dull greyscale of the city in daylight. You'll be standing there at the bus stop, mabye, or walking home, and the wind will blow, and then the world will change. No more chilly autumn evening; this night seems to be lit with some kind of inner glow. The wind shapes the trees, and leaves and papers dance in ever-changing circles, as if unseen conductors whirled among them. You look around at the new world, eyes wide, wind whipping at your hair and clothing. Everywhere you look, you see a picture. Every voice you hear has a story needing to be told. Everything looks so beautiful that you almost forget to breathe.

Eyes, ears and mind wide open, you wander aimlessly through the bright, busy streets, soaking up the sights and sounds. You may get an odd look or two from people you pass, adults who are too old and wordly to feel the magic dancing on the wind. Coming to your sense, you realize that the almost-winter night is coming in, bringing ith it a distinct chill. You scramble home, mind brimming with new ideas, determined to write every story, draw every picture.

You tumble through the front door, eyes aglow. As you enter, the warm air hits you. The smell of hot food and hot chocolate reach your nose. You determine to just have a bite, and a warm drink. You'll just defrost a bit before you share your magic with the world. Hours later, as you curl up in your bed, you realize you never wrote those stories down. But you're tired, and you'll remember in the morning....
