Description Eyes meet, as if by chance.
Across the room, unspoken conversation.
We talk. You smile.
And I can't think clearly anymore.

Minutes feel like days,
But hours feel like seconds.
Why does everything look brighter now?

My fevered brain and tinted vision
Give your face a pleasant haze,
And put our interactions
Into a different light.

I run to what I want to see,
And reach conclusions
With
A
Leap.

And now?

Eyes meet, as if by chance.
Across the room, unspoken conversation.
But we do not talk.
And you do not smile.

Aww, thanks! I'd love to, but I mostly used to write poetry in an "I'm sad and angstful and will never find love" mood. Which doesn't happen to me so much any more But I will try!

This is a really good use of linebreaking, Hilary. It's very moving, and the ending of the poem is so utterly non-striking. That's a good thing. I think its because you let the reader down lightly, gently, at the end of it, but let the reader down into a sort of dull seat. This making sense? I don't think so.

It's kind of making sense. I was going for a bit of a warped mirror effect. The same, essentially, but so completely different. I'm glad you liked it!

I don't know your situation very well, but I do appreciate it. It had inspired in you something beautiful, however depressing. I admire your heart

I know. It's the one redeeming feature of my endless angst.

I agree with Katie. ^^ It's like--you've made such an awkward situation into something beautiful, somehow. 'u' That sounds weird, but when you're sad you can just put your emotion on paper and everyone can feel it. ^u^ It's so amazing!

Thanks! Yeah, that's what I love about writing. It's a great outlet, and you can turn something bad into something beautiful.

Beautiful repititon, imagery, everything! You're amazing, and even though I know you're down, you've done the best thing in the situation, write fantastic poetry!!!!

Thanks, hon! That's why I know I'm destined to be a tortured artist. I do my best work when I'm angstful.
