“Stupid broad...” he poured himself another shot, and downed it. “She knows she’s nothing without me. She won’t get anywhere in life. How will she buy herself all those fancy clothes without my money, eh? Bet she hasn’t thought of that...” He sat alone at the bar, talking to everyone and no one at the same time. He was known in the club, in fact he was a regular. “Besides,” he said, turning back to the bartender, “She loves me. I treated her like gold. She ain’t gonna do no fucking better than me.” Wisely, the bartender held his tongue. The man had drunk enough to get violent, and he was never exactly the most accepting of the customers, even when he was sober. Even so... Everyone in earshot knew she’d left because she’d found out about him coming down here. Women didn’t take well to their men being at strip clubs, as many of the other patrons had found out the hard way.

One of the aforementioned patrons sauntered over, and sat down next to the angry, muttering man. Clapping him on the shoulder, he poured both of them drinks. He sipped at his, watching the other man down his as fast as he had the previous few. “Look man...” he finally said. “You’ll find a new woman. There are plenty more out there. You don’t need some bitchy whore telling you off all the time. And I’m sure the ladies around here can do anything she could do, and then some.” “Than’s Joe,” the man slurred back. “But y’know... All I needa do is make her see that I’m right for her... An’ I’m not gonna let ‘er leave...” And with that, he rose and staggered towards the door.

“Ken...” Joe called after him hesitantly, but he didn’t respond. The bartender shook his head as Joe moved to get up. Everyone there knew that they couldn’t stop the man... But some of them felt bad. They knew that when Ken got home that night, Barbie was going to be in trouble.
