I've been kinda busy with school and getting crap marks for everything |D So this was just a quick thing I had to do for my soul, but like I'm probs not gunna have too much time to do more drawing for the next few weeks or something <.< I dunno, see what happens. I've got a few requests that aren't going to end up on dA for a few months probably, so forgive me if I don't upload as much for the next month or so. In other news, I'm going to have to draw HEAPS for art this year, so there's probably going to be a lot more sci fi stuff uploaded. so when I found out Clariel becomes Chlorr later on in life it was basically a punch in the stomach-*ouch*- cuz like my feels ; ; and I reread some of Abhorsen and Lirael to find mentions of her and I picked up on that section in Abhorsen where Mogget drops a spoiler about her- and like now I kinda understand why mogget went to go north after Orannis was defeated. I just couldn't handle that her family all died and she never achieved what she truly wanted and she had to leave as a fugitive and like a hundred years later or so would be the downfall of the kingdom and like
and like how Orannis broke her will, even though she was so strong, but at the same time I loved reading the part where she cuts through the, uh, douchey kid and his father and she's so strong and it was amazing but then I felt sick after and like UGH iT WAS SO GOOD AND AMAZING AND I CAN'T HANDLE IT

I just finished Clariel and I find it fascinating that she was basically a necessary evil. If she hadn't freed those spirits, Belatiel wouldn't have become Abhorsen and the Princess wouldn't have come home, and Kilp would just keep being an Asshole. She removed the rot.
Also, she did help free Moggot in a round about way. Becoming bound by Oranus and serving his ends, ultimately leading to Sameth freeing him.
Also, I just love Darth Vader/Lich King characters.

I've been listening to the audio books. They're great stuff. I read the original 3 back in highschool a long time ago and wanted to revisit them but didn't have any free time (this last year, before Covid canceled everything) so I bought the audiobooks on google play and listened to them while driving. The two new books were such delights to read. I love Clariel. I love Lihrael & Nick's romance.

ohh, I borrowed it from my school library :3 I'm pretty sure it's out at bookstores now, but I haven't gone looking for it yet. Maybe cuz he's australian it's easier to find his books here..?
