Description
This one is a modification of a previous illustration ([link] ) but is useful for looking at major regions of reconstruction that one may not typically think about when it comes to an ordinary animal. Oviraptorid theropod dinosaurs, however avian they may seem, have strange heads and that requires that we look more into the details of the skull and how flesh attaches to bone to consider what their heads might look like. Note, that this is a hypothesis.More here: [link]

What is your personal opinion on oviraptorid diet? I still can't settle on what would work best, I theorised herbivore at one point, because they have such terribly non-binocular vision, and I thought the mouth prongs might be used for stripping leaves or as the base for a horny pad for mastication, or forming a bolus. It seems that they would be really good at cracking open nuts and cones, or husking fruit. But then again, why such raptorial claws? Maybe they were something like a bear, but such a specialised mouth seems to negate this. My closest guess is something between an ostritch, parrot, and goose, with a bith of raven thrown in.

Diet was somewhat discussed here: [link] It was intended as a premise for my larger project which has included reconstruction of the cranial tissues.
