The beautiful Blue bird-of-paradise is one of the most extravagantly beautiful among all the Aves, with only the males sporting vividly fancy flank feathers and two elongated wires. Both features, along with the male's red and black flank help to create an illusion to impress dull-colored mates. Though they're frugivores by nature dining on berries, fruit, figs and drupes, they'll eat animals as well like insects and reptiles. Polygynous species, the male happily performs his breathtaking courtship display, though he does this in solitary on a thin branch. While doing this, he makes an insect-like buzzing noise with chitters and chatters. After that, the females mainly build the nests consisting of stems, twigs, vines and other materials she can find. They mostly lay one egg, though 2 is uncommonly seen and are very protective of the hatchlings. They're sadly Vulnerable due to having a small population, habitat loss and ongoing hunting for their strikingly beautiful plumes.
