Discovery Space Shuttle STS-124.Date: May 31, 2008 - Liftoff 5:02 PM EST
Location: Space View Park (12 miles away in Titusville, FL).
Taken using a Canon 100-400mm IS L Series lens and a 2X converter resulting in an equivalent 1280mm lens on a digital Canon body.

Wow! I went to see a launch, I've seen countless videos, but I've never seen the vapor trail from the SSME's leave a contrail like that! (All they produce is water! As opposed to the SRB's that produce a very different chemtrail.)

I was there! It was a great launch, I came up from FIT, but ended up in Titusville when the bridge over to Cape Canaveral was completely stacked with traffic.
I do wish I had a big lens like that though, 200mm is just not enough.
