These actually are supposed to be characters in a 'human make first contact' story sort-of, but on the planet there also are some organisms earthly in origin. And this mammal-bird is a placoderm, because everything can evolve in (roughly) 400 million years of isolation on a cold island continent (probably Australia sized, but longer).

and i dont know tag it as mature content or not and how to explain how these fish dudes evolved because evolution (and probably me) was under some things while their clade was evolving
