It feels good to have my tablet up and running again.
Well he's drawn in an anime style, but when I looked at it he looks like the Boondocks style. I feel what happened is I just remembered how to draw Boondocks style from watching the show and it came out in my drawing.
The graffiti in the background says Max (his name). I feel like the bg is lacking, but I don't know what to put on the wall. Btw I don't want to overpower him with the bg when he's the focal point.

I thought of that but I didn't want a brick pattern I wanted a smooth one. I feel it's too smooth though, I'll think of something to fix it later.

I would have put the name in the middle of the drawing because the only part of the background that seems lacking to me is everything under the name, or maybe turn it more diagonal or maybe make some paint drips from the name going down the wall, it'll flesh out the background a lot more without taking attention from Max himself I think. ;v;
Although I really love how you did his hair and eyes. He's a total cutie pie

I feel like having the background's texture contrast a little more might help it look like it's more there; Right now the texture is kind of easy to miss so it looks like the bg is only his name floating at first glance.
The paint drips on the name look neat though! And the shading looks good as well. It's nice to see something from you again.

Thanks for the constructiveΒ criticism. I know what you're talking about. I had a problem with the bg texture being too plain that the words are hard to see that they are on the wall unless you see the picture up close. I may fix it some time later.

I know there are some artists who will step back from/zoom out from their work when they're working on it in order to see things overall that they might miss normally. I'll admit that I forget to check that way most of the time, but maybe it might be something to keep in mind for the future?
