I DO NOT CLAIM OWNERSHIP OF COPYRIGHTS OF ORIGINAL PHOTOS. Photos are used purely as an exercise, and NOT as an original artwork.I needed to do a human anatomy study so I could be making sure that when I do the covers I do the anatomy as accurately as possible. That, and I've been needing to do this for a while. It was actually quite fun and interesting to see how everything works. The idea is that doing these, especially the bone structure, allows the artist to get a better knowledge of how the body moves and how the skeleton influences the skin shapes at certain angles.
Anyway, not sure why I'm posting this. Thought you guys might find it interesting. Umm... yeah, so I definitely recommend this as an exercise, I think it was very successive. Find some good pictures of models, probably with a fair bit of skin showing so yo can see the effect of the muscles and bones, and make sure they're pictures you haven't used before. slightly anorexic females work great for the skeletal structure since you can see the bones through the skin fairly well like in fig (2). Then google some pictures of skeletal structure and see if you can figure out how they go together! It's actually a lot of fun.
