Zionism is not specific to Jews, there are Christian Zionists also Hindus that support it... It really is a political movement that supports the state of Israel...
Many governments of the world support Zionism. It is a very bad organisation, responsible for the genocide of thousands of Palestinians, most recently the over 2000 bombed to bits in Gaza last Summer. Propaganda, mass media lies tried to blame Gaza for a few homemade rockets that caused only slight damage to Israeli property. The lies said there were thousands of rockets...

Most Christians are Zionists.
I use to be but not anymore.
I am a Christain and I know that the Jews rejected Christ but that doesn't mean I hate them. I'll support the true Jews and help them the best way I can but I think most Christians (the ones who are Dispensationalists) love Zionism more than they do Christ.
But yeah...I love the jewish people.

An Israeli guy told me about this issue:
He said that the proclamation of Israel in 1948 contradicts to a prophecy in the Torah. According to this prophecy, a state for the jewish people will be found by a higher religious authority (someone like a messiah) someday in the future. That is why there are several animosities between the people who defend the existence of this state and those rabbis.
I haven't checked the link yet. Maybe it says the same thing.
