Most of my friends have seen this before I decided to take it down some time back. For you guys who didn't know, this is one of 3 pages that got me the gig for DDP's upcoming project called Mercy Sparx.I'm currently hard at work with issue one and I must say that Mercy's look and direction have changed much. She don't look like this page at all. I don't even recognise her from my original drawing. To tell you the truth, I enjoyed drawing the original more...hahah.
So I just want to share this pages with you guys again.

the lines are great, and you have a very dynamic background. I was wondering if the details were pencil, or just highly tuned inking? It looks very neat and clean.

Sorry for the late reply, Stacey... yeah they all traditional pencil art. A little tweaking in PS to make the blacks stronger. The whole idea is to draw very neat pencils so the loose lines don't show and you can proceed to direct colors without inking.

What page size do you usually work with, Quahkm (ie... A2, A3 etc)? I ask because I'm about to undertake my first original comic for a project at university, and I just wanted to hear from someone in the know which sizes are best to use.

sorry for the late reply...haha... the standard is 11" x 17". But I'm working on a reduced version on A3. Hope that helps... but actually you can work on any size you're most comfortable with as long they are proportionately enlarge from the original comic size.
Unless it's MArvel, DC or Image...they may want you to draw on their standard preprinted boards... Good luck!

I was leaning between A2 and A3, but I think I'm going to be working on A3 for sure now. A2 can be a bit daunting.

That's my biggest problem actually, I wish I can simplify some of my backgrounds though. Some details are really unneccassary as when they are shrunk down, readers may not see them. But I like to kill myself...stupid stupid!
Wish I have more friends that enjoy looking at the detail.
